35 Rupees is less than 50 US cents, thumb rule is US$1 is about 75 Rupees, and GBP about 100 Rupees.
Here ST means good quality, NOS, / made for Far East under ST supervision / good quality knock off like red Toshiba. At least it works properly.
I have been buying from that shop for many years, they do not dodge, if it is fake they will tell me.
If DAC sells CDIL at Rs. 42 (about $0.60), after buying through Mouser, and having the expenses of site and so on, plus packing, and forwarding, then counter sale price of 35 ( about $0.47) is reasonable.
And the merchants end up paying a fee for on line receipts...up to Rs. 100 ($1.33) per transaction at times. There is a minimum fee, and about 3% is the card fee borne by the merchant, who adds it to his cost.

The price of original ST is almost triple or double compared to CDIL. Check latest price of ONSEMI, CENTRAL or equivalents. The price at DAC is INR42 + 18% GST.
EDIT- sometime fake also works, i hve some in my possession & they measure well.

Btw CDIL is an indian company so oviously they are not sourcing CDIL made tr from MOUSER . RIP Logic!
About 50 Rs., right?
What was your total bill, for 6 transistors, and all that you bought?
How much you paid as packing and shipping?
And DAC had to pay card fees, or however you paid them.

Rs. 71 in bulk, those guys are reputed.

As far as DAC is concerned, they told you the ones you got were left over old stock from the previous owner, now they get from Mouser, so even the CDIL part passes through Mouser, which adds to the cost which the buyer finally pays.
Element14 has ST and Onsemi made 2N3055, check it out for yourself.
Oddly enough, India is much cheaper in price compared to Rochester and others.

@NareshBrd
Shipping is 150 & very reasonable from chennai to kolkata(including packaging cost). But i must admit the price of 2n3055 is still surprisingly low because two yrs back it was around INR60/
$0.9USD at kolkata.

Instead you should check....i already said ST made 3055 is long obsolete.Element14 has ST and Onsemi made 2N3055, check it out for yourself.

The price of multicomp 2n3055 is around 150/$2US, forget about onsemi.

I paid 121 Rupees for brass washbasin taps in Delhi, same thing was 245 in Hyderabad. 1991, it was.
Some cities, and some merchants are more expensive.
And odd thing is that in Hyderabad I pay per dozen for bananas and oranges, and per kilo in Baroda!
Try the Mumbai merchants, they are better quality than Delhi, less devious. But for small quantity, they may not be interested.

Don't know about mumbai but since decades kolkata is famous for electronics & for some age old authorised dealers. There price is also very good & you can return goods using tax invoice.
@NareshBrd You are still arguing without any logic. See the link by yourself.....

I haven't found that the case.
I have found all the CDIL small signal stuff I have has specs and gains all over the place, certainly failing to meet datasheet parameters in some cases (BC109, 560 etc all CDIL to-18).
I have not had the same issues with KEC, Semtech or any of the Chinese manufacturers I have used.
I'm sure CDIL make some reliable devices, but I have been unlucky and have been disappointed and so my trust is gone.

KEC is very good. Recently i purchased some KEC made c4793/a1837 driver transistors. As i said before India is taking baby steps in semiconductor business & it'll take time.
But BEL(Bharat electronics) is well known in india for MIL grade semiconductors.

@modogenerator I have used small signal CDIL , in my case they were within 10% range of HFE ,
Problem with CDIL is that somehow their rejected batch end up in market , i guess they sell it deliberately
have to know how to get their stuff ,
Again for little more i can get ONSEMI stuff which within 3% HFE

DIYAudiocart changed hands a year and a half ago. Orignally it was run by audio geeeks. They found that their business was running at a loss, and sold the shop to some businessmen.
