cross section is area of core, let say you would split it in half, you would see 2 cross sections of core, you understand?
That blue line and circle is cross section of core.

Hi luka...yes I understand.
this means my transformer in last project will fail in high current🙁
because it's cross section is about 7mm...you say with bigger cross section can make high current amps?
in my country there is not toroidal cores with different diameter
then what should I do?
ETD in my country is there, but I don't want do with ETD.
In your SMPS project that builded with +/-62V,have you losses in the secondary or shortage in current?does the voltages dropout?
Can you send your project schematic and pcb and it's images if possible to my mail?your website is filtered to me!
Thanks luka...

Again your trafo will not fail do to current, but coz of power
And your cross section is not 7mm, because you need 2 sides
like 7mm x 7mm and you would get cross section of 49mm2
I understand, hard to get cores, no problem , I think you can get away by stacking cores, puting one on other and then wind wire around both as it would be one core. A nother thing you can do is do smps with more then one trafo, if you have seen some car amps, you know that high power ones have multiple cores for power supply
See this:Digital Designs Z1

Hi LUKA
I am using 35X14X7mmToroid core (winding Pri:5x5 Sec:15x15) for my 2X120W car amp, So is it sufficient or need to big core size than what core size and winding. My smps Freq:50khz and O/P Voltage 45Volts dual
Best Regards

hey redhorseaudio
For so small amp you really don't need big core, but what I wozld chech is your transformer ratio. Even if your smps will be unregulated, and car voltage is 14.4v you will not get 45v per rail...not to say what would be if loaded by amp

amplifier schematic
hello!!!
i'm sorry for my bad English.
I built a smps from the site of valveaudio and I also realize the power amplifier.
someone has the amplifier design?
thanks

hi milad!!
very nice work.
can you post the schematic and pcb?
if someone wants, i put mi schematic of smps.
bye

Hi
One controller, say more then one gate drivers [for fast turn on and off if several fets are used]. Two or more transformers, easy has its own 2 primarys... for rest check this schema

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Hi luka.
as you say that my core have 7*7=49 cross section.
so my smps can with cross section 49 and 44mm diameter of toroid core handle that high current of my 2channel amp?
my amps have +/-47 V and 6a per rail.total power is about 564W.
can that 44mm toroid core handle this power?

but are you sure it is 49? coz that is not 7^2, it can be any 2 numbers, say 7 x 9mm...
my guess is it woun't be, but since this is for amp, you won't need 500w supply... best way is to try and see or just oversize core

hello!!!!
This is the project I'm making the amplifier.
The first design is the SMPS + / - 30V
I have built and it works very well

Hi luka
I am glad you like my work.
projects I have taken from the site of valveaudio
this is the link
http://valveaudio.tripod.com/schematics.htm
but I did not a 4-channel amplifier schematic
bye bye
