Hi Vikash,
I like your stuff. I bought a mike preamp PCB from you and am very happy with it.
But how did you measure the frequency response of the heatsink...? 😉

Giulio, I've been meaning to make that text a bit more generic. 😀
Colin, sourcing an affordable toroidal transformer of reasonable quality to my specs is proving quite a task. I have a non-potted clear tape toroid sample but I'm not content with the aesthetic finish to buy them in bulk and I'm quite finicky about these things - so I'll continue shopping. I considered the Plitrons, but they're insane with the prices they want.
The toroid sample I have is going for £27.99 (300VA 0-22, 0-22 @ 230v)

I'm in no rush so happy to wait until you have something you're ready to offer. I wonder what happened to the Holden and Fisher transformers Naim used to use? These were very solidly constructed and at one time were available through russandrews.com but not any more.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
It would be nice if you could add somes chasis to ur list of products, it is really hard to find good chasis at reasonable prices..and building one is really time cosuming..at times impossible.
Classic Adire Tempests now in stock: http://www.madaboutsound.com/prod_det.asp?product_id=37 and also some potted transformers: http://www.madaboutsound.com/prod.asp?pname=TRX
Adire Tumults are available if there's any demand...

You can try Miracle electronics India...they make toroids to order at reasonable prices...to any specs , shielding material you want. You can mail them...they will give you a quote based on the number u order.Quality is very good..as far as I know..but then I haven't seen many toroids... they are OEM's to some manufacturers like Samsung and sony here !
Vik,
Any chance of getting the Dayton reference line in stock. I think the biggest sellers are the tweeter and the 8" / 6.5".
I've been itching to give these a go but the shipping from PE is prohibitive for a small just a couple of drivers.
There's a good few DIY designs using these drivers and there seems to be a demand for them over here. I guess the real question is just how much do these work out at once they're on your site. I say that only because they are around the same ballpark performance as the Seas Prestige Alu range, so much would depend on that.
Worth looking into though and I'm sure I'm not the only one with that sentiment.

Smaller VA transformers
Vikash,
Having bought and implemented one of your kits the suggestion I have is that you consider getting some lower VA rated transformers in (maybe 160VA) to use with the 3886 Dual Mono kits, so that they can be used as intended and avoid the problems I and others had when you use a single transformer and that is hum. I posted a thread with my finding in the chipamp section.
If you could source some similar to the potted transformers you currently sell I would be first in line for two of them! Plus you could sell a complete kit, with transformers, boards, components and hardware (bar the case), which would be very appealing to newbs looking for their first and easy chipamp.
Hope this helps.

richie00boy said:How much is the equivalent Seas driver going for Ant? Those Dayton 8 inchers look nice.
The equivalent Seas models are the L22RNX/P and the L22RNX4/P which are £58 and £70 respectively.
I'm not sure its really competitive enough to be worth Viks time and money considering the alternatives that are available over here. I do know the L22RNX4/P is an excellent driver for the price and the L22RNX/P is more of the same but more suited for running up higher.
Top and bottom is that whilst in the US the Daytons enjoy excellent value for money and little competition in their respective price brackets, I believe that after shipping and import costs they are sort of lost amongst the rest of the other strong drivers once they arrive here.
If Vik did get them in stock I'd give them a go for sure.
I can do the Reference Tweeter: RS28AS-4 Sheilded 1-1/8" for £61.10 inc. VAT.
Ian, I am phasing out the chip amps as Peter and Brian have it well covered so I have no plans for bringing more transformers in. Personally I've never experienced major hum problems, but Farnell do some nice encapslated toroids that you might like.
