Large aluminium heatsinks reduced to clear: http://www.madaboutsound.com/prod_det.asp?product_id=38
Has the tweeter prices scared you off Rich/Ant?
Ian, I have only a single 300VA 2x22v potted toroid left in stock!

Again we're looking at stiff competition. There's the Vifa XT25(£40) and the near legendary Seas 27TBFG(£32).
Thanks for checking into it Vik but the shipping and import duties take the shine off the value for money. I'd still give them a go but the real question is would others?

I'll have it, the only problem is I can't log into your site at the moment, when I say I have an account is says it can't be found and when I try to say I don't have an account it says that an account with this name already exists!

As Ant says there is stiff competition, but thanks for looking into it. Also I have the issue of a stock of nice Audax tweeters and HDA 8 inch units in the loft. I don't think the 8 inch units I have come close to those Dayton RS ones, but I need to either sell them or use them first.
Hi Vikash,
If you are still interested in sourcing toroidal transformers, I recently ordered some custom ones from salzer in coimbatore, southern india.
http://www.salzergroup.net/Products.htm
I found them on the web and made an order for 5, very very nice quality -- the company manufactures for the well-reputed Plitron in Canada.
The man at Salzer told me they are looking for distributors in UK, Europe, North India. Maybe of interest to you? mail me off-list and I can give you the contact details if you interested.

Is there any place we can get connectors and the case?Vikash said:Hi, just the boards.
The case I used is from Digikey: http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail?name=SRA21-9VB-ND
The switch (now discontinued): http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail?name=360-1022-ND
The Right Angled PCB Phono Socket: http://www.tait-components.com/ProductDetail.asp?stock_code=531193
BNC socket and plugs should be easy enough to source locally.
The mic wand is a brass tube available from hobby stores model no: KS132
I might consider putting another kit together using budget components to bring the kit cost down a lot. Let me know if you think their might be interest in it.

Thanks Vikash,
I think most people have difficulty putting together the electronics necessary for speaker testing. The risk normally is fying the SC inputs. If there were a kit that takes care of the Mic, preamp, jig, and amp, it would be great.
I have uploaded into the SoundEasy User group at Yahoo my current jig design which is a modified Wallin Jig. The main purpose is to allow for various levels of testing without frying the SC inputs. The amp needs to be able to output up to 25V to drive speakers into non-linear region for non-linear parameter extraction. So if we can match the JIG to a specific amp, people can just hook things up and get running without worriing about frying the SC.
Right now I'm using an amp kit based on the TDA7294 chip which is okay. Just takes time to put everything into a case. Really had no choice but just took the one that seemed to output enough voltage.

I'd buy a kit. Still got the PCB and mic I got from you at the UK Fest. All good intentions, but too many other projects on the go meant I haven't done the necessary shopping around for the bits.
Just wanted to comment on the great service I recieved from this company when I recently ordered some speaker fittings. Excellent product and great service, thanks! Steve.
The new mic preamp (v1.1) PCB's are now in available, and the kits should follow shortly (and be a fair bit cheaper).
LM3886 PCB's are available to order again.
I've also added a few HiVi Research Drivers and will work on sourcing other drive units not easily available in the UK
Feedback on the new website welcomed!

Hi Vikash, good to see you are selling the heatsinks again. Are there any more of the small green 10k pots?
Lovely revamp

Hi John,
Sorry missed your post. Can't get hold of those green pots any more unfortunately. I could do with a few myself.
Mic Pre kits are all packaged up and ready to go now. Look quite pretty even if I do say so myself 😉

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

That's a pity, I'm after a decent 10k pot but the ones that are available are either too pricey or too big.
