It looks like this Group Buy has missed the target date.

Dennis are you calling off this GB in Jan ?

Cheers,
Ashok.

Hello Ashok,

I'm afraid Digikey's current stock will not accomodate
this GB. The downside is that we will not be able to
proceed right now. The upside is that we have
time to regroup and proceed in a more orderly
fashion. The Digikey stock went so quickly that
we really did not have time to respond.

I'll send a follow up message later.

Cheers,
Dennis

Hello all,

OK....I guess we're back on.

First of all, thank you for those who have emailed me
at

lm4562gb (at) gmail (dot) com

I have been compiling a list based on the confirmations
I have received. The current counts are about 90 for
the DIP part but only 40 for the SOIC. While I'm
fairly certain the DIP part GB will go forward, at this rate
the SOIC GB will not occur.
I will be contacting
individual members who have requested the SOIC
part to try to work out a contingency plan.

Since the prices I got from Digikey's website is guaranteed
till Jan 27, I would like to order by then. The Digikey
expected shipping date is Feb 6.

I would like to proceed as follows:

Deadline to email me with order: Jan 23, 2006 17:00 GMT (noon EST)
I will send out invoices within 24 hours thereafter.
Deadline for paypal payment: Jan 26, 2006 17:00 GMT (noon EST)

Again, if you would llike to participate in this GB, please see
the details in this post:

http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=1103917#post1103917

and email me at lm4562gb (at) gmail (dot) com
I will only count orders through this email address.
(ie. you must contact me through email even if your name is on the wiki.)

Thanks,
Dennis

Prices

Hi,

Digikey's has price breaks at 100 and 250 pieces.
While we're currently over the 100 mark for the DIP
part, we are not close to the 250 price break.

As for the SOIC part, even counting Arne's max
order of 30, I still only have confirmed order for 70
odd pieces. In fact, it's still not yet enough for
me to run the SOIC GB.

So at this point, there are no changes in pricing.

The shipping cost I quoted is based on Canada Post
air parcel rate since Canada Post forbids the mailing of
electronic parts by letter post (which would have been
somewhat cheaper.) This favours those order a
(reasonably) large number since the rate is good for
up to 250g.

Cheers,
Dennis

Hello,

Just a quick update: I have received confirmation
emails from 16 members, with half coming in the
last day.

The current count is 180 DIP part and a max of 84 for
the SOIC part. For those who are ordering the
SOIC part, please remember the final price
will be based on a sliding scale if we don't
hit the magic 100 mark:

http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=1103917#post1103917

Also, I will only order the SOIC part if we reach at least 80 pieces.

A minor bit of bad news: Its seems I was wrong with the
Digikey shipping date. The DIP part is now scheduled
to ship Feb 11.

Thanks,
Dennis
