Oh man, I must build this. I have a pile of 3/4 inch MDF sitting around. I have to conver neo's cutsheet to 3/4 and I am set.
So much for a smaller sub...I can't resist the horn!

Hi bjorno,
Would you, please, expand a little on the difference. I would find that very helpful.

I agree. I do understand that the it is a 1/4 wavelength pipe and not a true tapped horn.
Hornresp is not aware of the effect of the stuffing to be used in the T-TQWT and so cannot accurately simulate it. It appears that b🙂 has to manually process loads of data outside of the MJK worksheets to account for all the variables included in his efforts.

I haven't put "the pedal to the metal" yet on one of his other designs, but I built it to spec and did a very light sound test and it sounded great. I will be putting the finishing touches on the other T-TQWT project within the next week or two and I am really looking forward to starting this smaller one!
Put up some pics.

I don't want to hijack your thread, but the pics and design of another bjorno design are in this thread. It's a large subwoofer, it's going to create some serious spl in my primary home theater.

Parts Express 299-114 6 1/2 sub woofer
Permo has a pair of the woofers and we are both building new/more boxes.

I had a look an that thread, I feel famous there are so many pdf's with my handle on them...
I've been playing in the wood shop😀
Any details on your project?... the woofer look serious, though not a woofer that I recognize...
I thought you had enough speakers? Are you going to add damping material?

May do some more stump grinding for the two top corners shown. So if I was going to set upright...I'm thinking 3" blocks?

Hi ODougbo,
That looks interesting. Just some little corners as you have them at S1 would be fine, the wavelength of interest are just way too long. As to the height, you may have to play with that a little, 3" to 4" should be sufficient.

The design is top secret as you can see 😉 <270l @ ~30Hz, fairly beefy 15". I'd be pretty bummed if you did recognize this driver, though I do think this basket will gain popularity quickly.Any details on your project?... the woofer look serious, though not a woofer that I recognize...
I do - can't you see😛I thought you had enough speakers? Are you going to add damping material?
😱probably not it's a TH, I don't have a way to calculate the effects of stuffing in a TH.

It looks like it is missing something....how about we add some perpendicular bracing pieces? They would go from the back panel to the baffle board.
The boxes I'm using now, "pressurize" the 16' x 24' HT room, not all the time, just now and then (at low/moderate listening levels).
I did some checking, the box is about 60 cubic inches bigger, so no concern about volume.
NeoDan, good that you didn't post plans; 15" of forbidding fruit......

Hi NeoDan,
Post an input HR screen and I can check with a MJK simulation.

Hi b,
What worksheet should be used, ODTL?
Hi b,
What worksheet should be used, ODTL?
Yes, that one would be the easiest to use but I also need to know the schematic layout of the T-TQWT too in order to place the OD-TL terminus right.

TC Sounds? Here's an 8" version:
