Maybe on the side would be better.
It would be fun to have a stack of these.
They have unusual sound to them (which I like); they crack like a
Bull Whip. 😱

Anybody ever try something like this? Read about it in another thread from 60ndown:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/subwoofers/198175-isobaric-lovers-only.html#post2741693
Looks cool but more complex to build, unfortunately.
Actually, bjorno's tapped quarter wave pipe (TQWP) is a simple build. There are no angles to deal with.
TH = positive flare.
T-TQWT = negative flare.
TQWP = no flare.
whats the outside dimensions of that box ? it looks greatMaybe on the side would be better.

how stable is it standing up like that ?Here's the latest....upside down.
54 1/2" standing
It's not bad, no kids/dogs here though.
This box is working very nice, a little more detail in the low bass. Also for 1/2" wood, it sure sounds soild!

I had a chance to listen to this all weekend, it's a winner. The bass might be a bit stronger than the other 3, maybe because the mouth/woofers are tight into the corner.
Interesting though, I don't feel the box vibrating.

Hi ODougbo,
Praise your bracings ! The T-TQWT is a point pressure source, 😱 not a Vacuum Cleaner in reverse operation!
IMO, You've done a very good designs job, but do you have enough of sub's?
b🙂
I'm thinking the tall build is the "best deal".....I like that there is a full 100" center line and no worries about the folds.
What to do with the others...ahhh I never know, have a huge stack of them.

Agree, Most of the T-TQWT's I have built are single-folded.. What about your main speakers, how do they integrate with the sub's.
b🙂
im thinking of getting a good quality 8" subwoofer, something like a peerless sls 8" or a dayton RSS210HF-4 or maybe a Tang Band W8-1747 8" ? the dayton audio's more expensive but may be worth the extra money, i can get all of these in the europe area so shipping wont be too much, just wanted to know peoples thought's on these please 🙂What to do with the others...ahhh I never know, have a huge stack of them.
The front three: R & L are old 7" Vifa/Morel tweeter 2 ways (oh boy they will go low). The center is a HDS from Madisound. Since the subs are in the back of the room , the bass "moves" back to front; which adds a bit more dimension to the room.
Just for the heck of it I lengthened the ports 2" in the .75cf 7" Vifa boxes recently. That almost made them go too low (maybe I'll stuff them with foam plugs).
*Ports are 2"D x 7.75"L
**HDS center is a sealed box.
I know they say not to mix, but this combination does seem to work nicely; its whistle clear/natural sounding!!

Wish I could help thread1; I have 6 - 8" 55 2421s left over from the old subs.
MCM Audio Select 8'' High Excursion Woofer - 120W RMS 4ohm | 55-2421 (552421) | MCM Audio Select
The tall thin box with the 4 - 6.5" is good build, pretty easy and costs are low.
Sheet 1/2" $25
4 woofers $32
Fill - $10
AND it makes a good stand up vacuum cleaner!

Hi ODougbo,
"...AND it makes a good stand up vacuum cleaner! "
How about 2 or more with hinges as a room divider 🙂.
Regards,

NICE wood work! I noticed that my T-TQWT doesn't vibrate either. They do have an amazing sound to them.
