^. I can't be 100% sure on that side of the equation, but my understanding is yes. It should work just like "normal". The goal is to make it as seamless a process for all of you that expressed your interest early. It also allows the team to get the products set up in the store for permanent listing. Admittedly, it also makes it a bit easier on me. So, I'm grateful.

You're very welcome. The whole group has been awesome, and it's been a huge team effort. Everyone's patience is appreciated. :snail:

Tease.... different topic... I recently got to see some pictures of "real" chassis front and back panels (vs. renderings). Don't want to steal their thunder, so ... they can post when fully ready.... but WOW! Very, Very pretty. Just like the AI predicted. :joker: 😀😀😀😀😀

Hi Everyone!

Sorry for the delay in responses. There is still one box to tick, and the person working on that particular box is incredible. I simply underestimated how much time they might need to do their vital work. That's on me. Apologies. From a trusted source, this is "the most complicated project" to be launched. It needs / deserves the best efforts from the best people. The goal is happy builders. So, all I can say is... my humble apologies for poor timing estimates, but I'm confident it will be worth the wait.

re: the link to the survey. I'm not sure of the technical reason, but from a practical standpoint, there is no need to sign up to express interest any longer.

All the kits from the first run are effectively spoken for. So, there's no need for anyone else to add their name to the list. Anyone that's not part of the first group can purchase kits from the store when they're in stock.

Other stuff....

The feedback from the survey was used to determine if there would be a chassis (and when). YAY, two chassis are in development! Timing... soon, but don't ask. :). They're working quickly.

The only other relevant chunk is whether there might be a "completion kit" of some sort in the future. That's undecided. Given what we've all got on our plates at the moment, I wouldn't expect any news for "a while". So, if you're wondering whether to order all your extra parts or whether to wait on a completion kit... order your parts.

Still best to wait final documentation, which (I resume) will be part of Build Guide

6L6, who else

HighFlyer, SpeedTalker and PornMaster

:clown:
Great call ZM. Sorry, I should have phrased it more properly... completely...

It is HIGHLY unlikely that schematic and parts requirements will change from what's in post #61. The 'KISS' thread also has a ton of resources. So...
  • For those with confidence, there is no reason you can not order the additional parts at your discretion, at your own timing for your own reasons.
  • For those that would prefer to wait until they've got the kit in front of them, or are uncertain and would like to wait for a guide, it's best to wait. I can't comment as to whether a full parts list will be included in the guide. I've never seen one in a guide before, but...
I provided 6L6 with full parts lists. They (I think) include every single part separate from signal and power wiring that I used in my builds. I thought it might make his life easier. He will likely use some different parts in his builds for the guide(s). Again, there will be no completion kit at this time. So, we are not particularly concerned with exact part numbers for parts not included in the kit. However, I did send him the exact parts included in the essentials kits for his builds (minus the transformers he said he already had). That's for at least four reasons.

1) We wanted to be completely absolutely bang nuts on to ensure that you all get the right parts. Yes, they are the parts that I used in multiple qualification builds, but I wanted to send a random sample of kits to 6L6 for just that extra bit of confidence.
2) Even though actives pretty much all look the same within a form factor ... we wanted to use the same parts you'll be getting for the guides. As the PornMaster, 6L6 takes very nice photos.
3) 6L6 has a very nice stash of parts, but I only thought it polite to send him kits because he so graciously offered to do the guides.
4) I used only the LS and Toshiba 170 / 74s in my 4 qualification builds. I wanted to have at least two builds done with the JFET sets from Papa.

Hope that clarifies things.

Love the questions and the enthusiasm.

yup, from first glance on linked post, that's it
though, for ordering, I believe there must be more info, all necessary for deciding what size of parts to order
I mean, of graphical parts , there is one I usually call "Parts placement", containing top silkscreen and dimensions of pcb (sorry, Metric) and in most cases made as both png and pdf, so if printed on paper in 100% from pdf, one can use a ruler or calipers to see what size/pin raster of caps, heatsinks etc

so, just saying - far from me messing in your arrangement of things ........ who is going to make presentation of all files and where and who is going to do Build Guide etc.

anyhow - whenever it starts in any/official way, just buzz if I'm not already there, and I'll give all necessary details and maximum jest
