I'm in the middle of a Divorce, any advice?

Take your time, it is worth it.

My wife signed papers yesterday after a 6 month negotiation. No kids between us, but we are older than most couples that split and that posed its own set of issues.

I'm taking the papers back to my attorney this morning for him to file them. Then it is a 60 day wait before the chancelor will sign them.

I'm gob smacked by some of the posts in this thread, don't you realize that divorce lawyers search forums like this for information for their clients! and yes chrisb..misogyny rears its ugly head in DIY Audio, sickening..

Indeed, and I'm also on #3. She's my final one, and as the guys here who know her (Jan, Scott, Variac, sonidos...) will attest, she was the one I should have married the first time. 😀

The advice always was, keep the good wine for the end!

It’s not misogyny afa.
It’s an one-sided memory extract after a traumatic long term experience.

gee, George, the perspective from the distaff side would be different, how exactly?

granted, this spoken by one who's been in a single, stable, if not always silky smooth relationship for 42 legal years, plus the several "mucking about" prior, so perhaps I'm not equipped to address the issue at all

Why would that be ? Do you realise that there are many countries where women have more rights than men when divorcing ? And where it is customs to empty a mens pocket and lawyers will help a hand ?

Here it is becoming normal that women stop working just before the divorce so they can get "partner-alimony" just to serve the ex right.....and where everything gets split in 2 even if they're the ones having an extramarital relation causing the divorce ?

I've got a friend who divorced about two years ago who feels the same way about women. I don't hate them, I just seem to have a knack for picking the wrong ones.
My recent wife chose her kids over my kids. There shouldn't have been a choice, both should have been equally welcome. So, I chose my kids over her.

Life goes on. My kids are now welcome in my house.
