the focal lengths of condensor is 90mm.that is the best!
the reflector is a spherical reflector,focal lengths is not important.

It uses MH 575W GS dual ended bulb. Bulb has 750h lifetime and still has 300h left. After it burn out i wonder what would be better:

I have ASK too.

you can get a 575W bulb from 18wheeler,it is a HMI.
or like me, set a 400w UHP. 1500Hr at least.
the 575W HMI is bright but hot too! I think I dont need this bright, sometimes, the image is a vast expanse of whiteness,the light is supersaturation.

on your pics - there is a 400W UHP bulb in projector?? look like 575W bulb... did you simply place this 400W instead 575W with no modding??

Otherwise - what will I need to do to mod my ASK to accept lamp like this? (400W UHP) What with electronic and tft - isn't it set to detect 575W bulb and run only with that lamp?

YWH... Question for you?

In post 96 you said that you can use the UHP bulb with a MH ballast. I have two commercial projectors that use regular MH bulbs ( Eiki LC4200 - 195 watt mh and an Epson elp3000 - 150 watt mh ) is it possible to use one of your 200 watt UHP bulbs in the Eiki or the 150 watt UHP in the Epson. Thanks for all your help.

I simply place this 400W instead 575W with 400W ballast of HQI.electromagnetic ballast.
I give up 575W bulb .
there are two way to choose,1,575W HMI,simply place . 2,400wUHP with 400W ballast of HQI.electromagnetic ballast.

Here's the picture of the Epson bulb. If I ordered the 200 watt instead of the 150 watt bulb do you think the ballast could start it so the bulb would last longer? Does the bulb come with the epoxy to glue it back into the reflector? I'm assuming that I have to cut out the old bulb like was talked about earilier in the thread. My bulb is all cloudy so I cant get a picture of the electrodes for you sorry. I also have better pix's if you need them. Thanks soooo much.

does anybody know where 18wheeler is? i'm looking to buy a bulb, but i can't get in touch with him?!?!

ywh-

i have a Sony VPL-S500 projector. i saw in the replacement.pdf on 18's site that i can use a JYs 250W DC bulb. will the ballast in the projector work with this bulb like it was the original? also, does this bulb come in a single ended version?

when i bought the projector it didn't have a bulb, and i can't afford to pay $400 for one! so i rigged up a 360W overhead projector bulb to work. it gets very hot though 🙁 . anyway, i can't measure the voltage of the bulb. i guess i'll buy the 250W JYs and take my chances 😉 .

still no word on 18wheeler?

need uhp bulbs

Hi YWH,

I need some bulbs for projector use, I have those reflectors with burned-out bulbs (see pic)
I dont know for which brand projector, what i know is the 1 bulb use 150watt the other one 200watt. Can you provide them?

BTW. The 150watt bulb use 1 side metal cap and the other side dont have. the 200 watt both side dont have the metal cap.
As i see on our picture they have both side metal caps, is it easy to remove the caps?
