Rear shot... I removed the fan speed adjuster from the fan and relocated into the elctrical compartment of the projector...i have set it approximately 3/4 speed and she is whisper quiet now 🙂 Fan is mounted on double side rubber tape to prevent vibration (as are all fans in projector. When i was testing the fans i blew a lung full of smoke under the PJ it was sucked straight in by the intake fan and choofed straight out the back at a great rate of knots lol...

Well...thats it for now fellas, my next picture post will hopefully be of a working projector 😛
Still a couple minor things to do as far as construction goes, a lens holder, stand, s-video extention. The top and side has been finished and painted but i will mount that last as the top is hinged to the side and would make working on the thing a little cumbersome.
Hope you found the pics of some interest guys
Oh ... i picked up some speakers to use in conjuction with the PJ and poota... I got the off ebay for $AD183
Im looking for a suitable amp on ebay to run these puppies, I know next to nothing about sound setups and would take any advice on a satisfactory amp (i have posted in the audio section of the forum regarding this but as yet have had no response)
anyways...
Heres a pic of them...
Speakers are 8 ohm 6.5inch 300 watt woofer and 5 inch 150 watt midrange with 1" tweeters 90db efficiency frequency response 42-22 000htz ...if any of that helps lol

Great to see more progress, where are them optics???? lol... Im still waiting for results😉. Looks great so far, so many are going with the lilli!!!!! (not me though...)
I think a standard home theater amp, 5.1 channel one will do ok. I my self use a fairly old model of a sony 5.1 amp, STR-DE425, and when used with my PC, it sounds great! I bought it several years ago for 200$ canadian (about 150-160 US). Never gave my any problems, still up and running, currently driving 8 speakers (used to drive 10) and a powered sub.
I cant recommend an actual model, but my amp is pretty outdated by now. No dolby digital or DTS decoder, but has 5.1 input non the less. I had my soundcard/pc do the decoding before I traded it for some CRT projector parts. It sounded pretty darn decent, I loved watching DVDs in 5.1 format. Ill leave the recommendations to the audiophilles.😀

hehe..yeah she came together and scrubbed up quite well i think...should only take me a couple hours to get it up and running when the optics arrive 🙂
I shall keep an eye out on ebay for an amp in my price range ... one like you have would be ideal ... as i mentiioned the speakers will be running in conjuction with my computer/sound card so i can make adjustments with that also 🙂

Hey Hillbilly! Your projector's looking great! I am in the process of building mine too but I'm in a slump right now for constructing an LCD holder for a split fresnel design. Since I have a Lilliput too, can you tell me (or show me) how you made yours? If you wanna talk, I'm on AIM as thenewwon. Keep up the good work!
Thanks frozenbum87...my lcd 'holder' is about as simple as it gets bud...i purchased sponge type tape with adhesive either side and simply stuck a strip either side of the LCD to hold it in place. The LCD chamber i made 167mm wide so the frame and LCD simple slide in 🙂 I have held the control board in place with mother board mounting spacers and screws... I will also hold the glass with UV filter and the two fresnels in place in this manner, the stuff sticks like s**t to a blanket and is a convenient 10mm diameter. Soz mate i dont use aim...i have msn and am contactable on that aussiejester@hotmail.com...
Blew one of the pics i took yesterday up so you can have a closser look at how I have done it...
Hope this helps mate 🙂

Just a small update as too where things are at....seems my lenses have been lost in transit, Ace has said he will post off another set for me (thanks Trev) No word thus far as to whether this has happend yet unfortuneately.
I have managed to score a overhead projector from a friend of a friend, he will be using the lenses fresnel and reflector for his own PJ but has said I can borrow the lens and the fresnel until such times he has the $$$'s for the 7" LCD he plans to use.
Im going to slice up the fresnel tomorrow and botch something up to mount the lens to my box (dont want to alter the box as its designed and set ready to drop the fujion lens etc in when i finally get them) No idea as to what results i will get if any, this overhead projector is extremely old, the fresnel and lenses are however in mint condition.
The two lenses it has are 95mm diameter unsure of the fl yet will work that out tomorrow prolly round 300ish i would think. Picked up a pvc reducer today from the hardware that the lens holder fits onto and the other end slips nicely into the precut 85mm hole in ma case....I'm hoping it will be large enough to fit the whole image from the lcd on, I have no idea to be honest its all guess work and will be cross my fingures and hope stuff tomorrow.
I have a 60mm condenser lens from an old slide projector i can use, again no idea as to whether this will be big enough either
Anyways...hopefully i will be able to project some sort of image by the weekend, at the moment all the work I put in has seem wasted as the projector has been sitting collecting dust since my last post, very dissapointing really...
Shall keep you all posted as to any results, will borrow my friends digital camera again and take some pics of the lenses etc before the weekend.. and some screen shots if it produces any.
On the bright side i scored a Pinnacle PCTV Pro capture card off ebay for $40...was still in unopend box works a treat.
ciao for now folks

It certainly has buddy, i didnt catch you on msn the last days to tell ya 🙂

Ya thats about right, probally about 325mm with them both together, if its just one lens (a singlet) probally the same.
Depending on the type of condenser it should work, thought its focal is questionable.
Trev🙂
Hey Trev...Yeah I aint been too well been having trouble with the legs again so been away when on msn mostly, cheers for getting the optics off bud appreciate that 🙂
Was hoping to use just the one lens they are both identical, this adapter I have sits on the outside of ma box and puts the lens 320mmish from the lcd...I only have one fresnel to use was going to put that between the lamp and lcd and give it a whirl...the reflector is cool though has a neat holder and fits straight in behind ma lamp...might for go the condenser and give it a blat see how it goes without. Its all only temporary just need to see something on the wall.

LOL you got any posters?😀
Im comin on MSN now ill have a chat to ya in that.

OHP symmetrical duplet
OHPs that don't use a triplet, often use a symmetric duplet. That consists of two identical PCX or positive meniscus lenses of the same diameter and strength. If you measure the focal lengths of each individual lens, then you can caculate the effective focal length:
efl = (fl1 * fl2) / (fl1 + fl2 - distance)
distance refers to the distance between the two lenses. So a duplet with an effective focal length of 320 mm would have individual lens focal lengths of around 640 mm.
In the duplet, there is usually a stop aperature in the middle. If you remove it, then you get more light in the middle and less at the edges. If you try to take apart an OHP duplet + mirror to use the lenses as a projector lens, include the stop. It may be in the form of a mirror that is smaller than the lenses. If that is the case, then you will need to make a stop from a piece of sheet metal or cardboard with a hole the same size as the mirror. Put it halfway between the two lenses.

Yup thats exactly what they are Guy...i made 'stop' out of pvc pipe think i got the fl around the 300 mark though shall see later in the day i hope...just cut the fresnel lens now i have 2 🙂 Shall finish ma ciggy and get back into hope to ark it up round lunchtime
Bah easy if ya know where to look ::wink::
