Heatsinks for Bosoz?

The price of $36.80CAD or $29.15US is for one Preamp Board.
The Price of $55.20CAD or $43.75US is for one Power Supply board.
Included is all parts, Heatsinks & FET Pads.
I am working on a deal ont transformers and hope to included them as well.
Shipping is Extra of course.

X-BOSOZ Group Buy for parts closes May 31st.

All Pre-Payments must be submitted by June 15th. If for any reason there is unacceptable attrition (enough to affect pricing), Kit pricing will have to be changed accordingly.

There are 8 no responces and several tentative arrangements in regards to the invoicing for the kits. These will have to be cleared up by the 15th of June for the Group Buy to continue as arranged.

When and only when all funds are collected, can I order the transformers. The lead time on the transformers is at least 6 weeks. This means I will not be starting kitting until the start of August at this rate of progress with the pre payments.

Given the current variables under consideration, and assuming no more delays, most of you should recieve your kits in September depending on the shipping option you chose to pay for.

I hope this clears up any more questions regarding when the kits will be available.

Best Regards

Anthony

On a seperate issue, I have had several requests for Transfomers from members that are not participating in the Group Buy.

As the participants of the GB are sharing the import and shipping costs of 40KG of transformers it does not seem fair to offer the transformers to the other members at the same price.

We are not getting a Quantity Discount from CLUBDIY Biz, they feel $15US is extremely competitive as it is. This means there is no inherent benefit to inflate the quantity purchased.

I suggest any person's wanting the transformers but not the kits should either go direct to the Vendor themselves or pay a premium to differ a portion of the brokerage, shipping and handling. I really beleive that going direct is the best option for these members as they would have to pay shipping twice, once to the vendor and then to me to re-ship the transformer.

Sorry if this all sounds Us & Them, but adding these transformers consumed all the spare funds from the participating members plus incurred some significant cutbacks in parts selection criteria.

Anthony,

again I ask what the members participating in only the main board and not the PSU GP will get !!, since the surplus of cash you seem to have is used to buy transformers instead of C3-C4!

Well to address this issue. the bulk of the surplus funds to buy the transformers is going to come from substitutions in the PSU BOM. When I costed out the PSU kits I included 2 x 4700uF caps at $10 each, 2" Heatsinks instead of the 1.5" Heatsinks. HFA FREDs instead of the MUR devices. I also jumped on a skid of Caps for my personal use earlier this month which included about 70 x 100VDC 3900uF Caps, Nippon Chemi-Con. I have put these aside for the GB and pass the substantial savings along to the members who purchased the PSU's. In total I knocked about $16US off the original PSU price that was already paid for by the PSU buying Members.

Furthermore it was these surplus funds that were going to buy C4 & C5 with a small contribution from the Preamp kits Dollar wise.

So the short answer is no the Preamp only purchasers will not benefit as they contributed no significant portion of the surplus funds and it was the PSU buyers who were footing that bill.

The reasoning for the cost reductions in the PSU were simple, as long as the end Product was of similar functioning quality the benefit of adding a quality R-Core transformer was compelling.

I consulted with Kari on all the BOM changes and he agreed with my assumptions.

I can only suggest if this scenario irritates anyone to the point of dissatisfaction by all means request a refund from me.

Or

Send the funds for a PSU Kit and reap the benefit of my efforts on behalf of the group in that arena.

Changes on a similar scale to the Preamp BOM in my opinion are not feasible and will definately effect the quality of the end product. As an example the Preamp Kit includes $0.40 resistors NOT $0.06 resistors.

My apologies in advance if the reality of economics offends anyone's percieved sense of fair play, but as I stated, I understand everyone has a different POV, and will be happy to refund thier money.

Anthony,

is there the possibility to ship the mainboard kits earlier for those people that don`t want the PSU kits? I`d very much appreciate this as i don`t really want to wait till september.

Well Yes, but those Members would be paying shipping twice.

I thought about ordering the transformers now, out of the monies collected so far, but I feel uneasy about some of the feedback on the Thread, how quiet the Thread is and how slow Pre Payments are coming in.

Speaking only for myself, I love having your "brain" handling part selection, matching and value in comparison to money spent/parts. These GP's must be exhausting, no worries here.

Thanks Stan, it is challenging keeping value and performance at the edge of the envelope and still leaving room to maneauver financially when you have committed yourself and your friends to a fixed budget.

Fortunately I have a lot of practise with BOM's and budgets, though usually they are for Military or commercial aviation projects. 🙂

This mite be due that little has been said about the PCB’s.

I’m still waiting to receive my IV from Kari, any news from him?

If this is truly like the military, you could always go over budget on the power supplies.

I would be up for kicking a little extra cash to get the future upgrades done now. But that is my opinion, and I don't want to muddy the waters and make a discussion that will drag out over this. I trust that you are doing the best possible with the funds available. So, don't change a thing unless there is good reason to do so.

Your efforts are truly appreciated.
