Was not ever that way... in the seventies and eigthies we had all we wanted.
Those last Presidents we have sold our country.
I can remember Wilkinson transformer and one other brand, every voltage from 3 volts to 80 volts AC, and also power till 1 Kw was easy to find.
Also Speakers, we had Bravox, Novik, Arlen, Selenium and more dozen brands connected directly to factories we had, alike Sony and Panasonic, Technics, Phillips, Gradiente,JBL,Quasar,Emerson,Zenith,FBL,Lando.... and some small others trying to develop themselves...... we had more than 30 speakers brands...and a Shop to sell only speaker, so many they are.
Also a shop only to transformers.
Things was different before those last nation responsibles.... we are guilty... we elect those guys!
Brazil was too much different, the people that was working in my building, taking care of the building, had decent life conditions, one of them bougth my car.
Today, those guys have not money enougth to buy and old bicicle!

Here is the Cygnus PA-1800D, a heavy power unit used till our days!
Those amplifiers are powering enormous trucks, we call here "Trio Elétrico"...that have space for dancers and Orchestra over its top.
Those Trucks insides are air conditioned room filled with amplifiers, power Diesel Electrical Generators and all surround have exponential type speakers.
Also Twetters (Horns) and Mid Range drivers are used together with electronic crossovers... amplifiers are divided to frequency and power.... some of them reach 20 Kilowatts sound without increase volume up than 30 percent.
You can hear sound produced 18 miles distance
The schematic is "Leach type", the one i personally do not like the sound to home speakers....but with electronic crossovers, mixers and all stuff, it produce wonderfull bass.... i dislike the low end reproduction, it seems to me unprecise, alike the Leach Amplifier.
Well, this is a matter of "musical taste"...but i remember a Sony amplifier i made once, using common hi speed switch darlingtons, producing only 35 watts RMS that show me what is a pretty bass reproduction...this Sony is alike AKSA design.
This monster amplifier can be powered by hi voltages, you just need to replace all transistors for more modern types that can hold 300 Volts.... the way you have this schematic, powering with 63 Volts plus and minus, it will be able to produce around 800 watts RMS over 2 ohms.... and maybe something around 200W over 8 ohms.
I call this one "easy amplifier...easy amp."....because you can make changes, other transistors, and change some resistance values...this one always works...it is stable.
A winner!, produced more than 80 thousand units, and now a days already used and respected...it is a Leach Amplifier cousin... enormous quantities of guys love Leach Amplifier, not my case, but i respect other opinnions.
Here is the schematic, splitted in two parts (sorry!)
Can also use two transformers... 220 to 110V....and split secondaries to have 3 wires, creating center tap....you will have around 150 rectified and filtered..... using top quality power transistors, drivers and all stuff, having more power transistors... well excited with good audio input, i had informs that people could produce around 3 Kilowatts... pair of transistors where used in the output, and many modifications made.
