I have the 2N5566. If you can get a group together and have someone in
the US to accept shipment, I will send some there.
I have a friend living and working in the US with their family. They will help me transport them to my country. I can't send an private messenger to you.
It was very difficult to find the original 2N556x for testing and evaluation.
Do I get a couple of 2N5566 from you?
Please help and let me know any suggestions for the next steps.
Thank you very much.

May be I will start a new thread for 2018 with schematic and value components exactly with the best circuit layout, suitable for the full range from Mimesis to TL-5000.

I've tried DIP-8 footprint on PCB. The advantages are:
1. Compatible with NPD556X
2. Compatible with 2N556X metal-can if you solder them on an adapter
Hi Mr Chien,
great idea from erikovsky. A DIP-6 footprint allows also to use the LSK389/489/589 from Linear Systems in SOIC 8 , TO-71/6 or in SOT-23/6 cases with a small adapter borard. As i check in the layout, there is sufficient space in that area und would make the designs very flexible .

Hi,
Why not DIP-8? DIP-6 is not able to plug in a NPD556X🙄
Hi erikovsky,
DIP-6 or DIP-8 doesn't care, i choose DIP-6, because the actual available prodducts, like SST404 from Calogic the LSK 4(5,6)89 are available inthe shown cases. The DIP- (NPD556x) is still in production, or has reached EOL? As a DIYer i am interested in buying devices from trustworthy sources. All these device i mentioned before are still in production. And for me this way was sufficient enough.
Are you planning to change your designs with LAT-Mosfets for the TO-247 cases from EXICON (the last remaining in active production)?

Would this jfet qualify as a single valid option, to be pair matched and used on the Goldmund input stage?

It's in stock and legit.

Which ones could be used in the Mouser dual jfet list?
dual jfet Dual JFET | Mouser
The affordables I mean, less than $10 each.

The 2N556X family is not as fast as the 2SK170: between 7.5 and 12.5mS.
OTOS, the IFN5912 is a lot faster than all.

It has nothing to do with how fast they are. It is mS=milliSiemens not ms=milliseconds.
It is kind of an amplification factor.
IFN5912 has a transductance of 3-10 mS (same as 3000- 10000 uS)

To be a little more specific. Siemens is a unit and 1 S (Siemens) = 1/Ohm.
Taking Ohms law Volt=Aampere x Ohm makes Siemens = Ampere/Volt.
So in a FET with 1 S transductance a 1 Volt change in Gate/source voltage results in 1 Ampere change in drain-source current.

Would it work on the Goldmund?
Availability and price are an issue with the LSK389.
On my Goldmund LTSpice sim. THD is improved with the 2SK170, compared to the 2N5565.
But of course, to get that result the 170s have to be matched.

Of course perfect matched 2SK170 will improve the THD, because you used 2 identical JFETs for your simulation. In real life they are alltimes different. Maybe you' ll find 2 very similar ones, when you have tested 100 pcs. The main problem here is to find 100 genuine parts. Most of the offered one's on the internet are fakes, For a vry good matched pair (1%) , from $30 upwards you can count.
