Chris.

Your response is a mountain out of the mole hill.

I suggest you delete your post as its not in the spirit of sorting out what has happened.

I think most people can see the intent of what I said, at least the emails suggests that. Things are starting to happen.

My post would was never meant hollow you out or the moderators.

Aáf appears to be working things out now which is great news.

To all

I have heard back from A'af via email that he will refund my money as soon as he transfers money into his Paypal account. I got the impression from A'af that this would happen sooner rather than later. I told A,af that I would return the faulty transistors to the address he has nominated as soon as I get the refund.

I think A'af is genuine in all of this, except for the fact the he has been scammed by a dodgy operator in SE Asia. You can google these parts and you can find all sorts of sellers in that part of the world that show these parts in stock (in quantities of 1000,s) at quite ridiculously low prices. Be warned, keep away from these sellers. I have corresponded with a few of these sellers on these 2 items and when you finally get some decent info and pictures out of them, they are always not genuine. Some operators even trying to sell three pin devices as 2SJ109's.

Regards

Gary..

However, this is between you and A'af along with the other members involved in this deal.

sorry, but I don't agree as the moderators hold the power to ban users. Will you ban him A'Af from DIYAudio if all those involved in this GB voted him off the proverbial island?

I'm sending my devices back and am hoping for a refund!

I will buy stamps and send the fets öhh.. tomorrow.
At least something good came out of this..yesterday I sat down an matched 8pairs of 2sk170/2sj74 (was going to use 389/109)for my,not yet built B22 balanced headphone amp..have never matched before.😉

Please,
lets lower the traffic on various issues besides what is the most important - sorting this out and having refunds done. At this point it is irrelevant having discussions about moderators and their role.
We all are sharing part of responsibility, as we went into GB willingly. These parts were available for much higher prices elsewhere, but we opted for a good deal. I hope and believe that Aaf will come out clean, as this could happen to anyone putting together the group buy. Aaf carries responsibility as well and besides public humiliation here on the board, he will have a financial loss as well. If his intentions were genuine, (and I believe they are) I am sorry for this.

I do understand, that some members have invested hundreds of dollars, I truly hope they will be able to recover that. Blaming someone, sending treats publicly and privately will not help us out, at least not now.

So please, stop with fights and lets sort this out in the civilized manner.

Give a chance to A'af

Dear All,

I know many people in here are upset. But please calm down and give A'af a chance to make this situation getting better and I know he's doing his best to do that.

Sometime things happen, not only to A'af but can happen to anybody. I know he hasn't ever to do that by intentionally, but the important thing which I see from him that he never try to run away from his responsibility.

I know this guy for a long time and I studied with him at the most reputable university in my country and I've never doubt his integrity. I am sure he will come to you with his full responsibility.

A'af, come on. Show to us who really you are. I know you will pass this problem.

Once you have pass this problem with good will and responsibility then many people know and believe in your commitment for the past and the next GB from you.

I know you can do that, Buddy. Never doubt in you!

Boy.

Hi,

I am very sorry the Groupbuy turned out so ugly. I really hope everything turn out well for you and the other fellows at diyaudio.
As I am convinced you handled on the best of intentions I have sympathy on your situation.
I hope you can get the money back. I sure would like my money back.
But as I am realistic abouth this all I know there is a good chance you will lose a great deal of money on this one.
If it all turns out you can't get any refund from your supplyer I won't hold it against you and I don't want any refund.
:att'n:

cannt you believed, i got this mail form one of the buyer!!!:angel::angel:

Partial refund

Well, I'm here to report what happened to me.

For this group buy, I sent money twice to A'af, on 10/30/2007 and on 12/11/2007, both were paypal payment. I contacted A'af this afternoon about returning these non-functional devices. Then a few hours later, my second payment was refunded to my paypal account.

I think that is an indication that A'af wants to do the right thing. I have hope that he will be true to his word, and we will get our money back.

Just to let you know that I got my refund for 30 devices. I'm happy to see that A'af is doing his best to restore his reputation and to fill-in the holes in our budgets!

A'af I will send you back my parts tomorrow. I canceled already my request for refund through paypal. I should be sleeping now....😴

FWIW A'Af,

Maybe you already know this, but if you use paypal's 'refund' feature, I believe you can have the entire amount of the original payment returned to the sender, including the original transaction fees. At least, that's how it worked last time I needed to do a refund (I hope it's still the same). At least this way, you may avoid getting hit with paypal fees going both ways!

To all buyer who already paid:

This refund process will take 1-2 weeks, i need time to managed this too, hope this will finish asap, take a good care, thanks.

all the best,
a'af

Thanks for taking care of this.

Do you still need the parts back - I don't have much to use them for, but I doubt they are worth the postage.
