Although not 100% DIY, I modified the speakers a bit to produce big room filling sound. 901's are turned around, covers removed when in use. They're still operating at full range.
are those stock 901 drivers or did you use another driver in the 901 cabinet?
Here are some photos of my speakers, a pair of Jordan JX92S in the VTL enclosure designed by Jordan. The boxes are made of 18mm Baltic birch plywood which is beautiful, solid, and good sounding.
After break-in for 2 months, they sound very well in a balanced way. Compared to the sealed boxes used previously, the most significant improvement is the bass. Now the bass is deeper and richer that constructs a wider and more solid sound stage overall. The treble and the middle are as well as in the sealed boxes, smooth, refined, and involving, no trade-off at all.
More photos are here.

Winter in progress, so the last finish-touch have to wait for the spring. Moved my Dallas II in today, and what a sound! Huge soundstage, wide sweetspot and they are a lot of fun! ....and heavy 🙄

Great! A nice audio room in a set of fantastic photos.
Which driver unit are you using? Looks like a Fostex?
Thanks! Yes it's Fostex; fe206e.
The amplifier is a Norwegian kit; MAE-SET1, preamp from Bottlehead (Foreplay III, DIY). Source is Benchmark DAC1 and Squeezebox

I recently had some time on my hands. I had quite fancied a BVR type speaker so this was my opportunity. As my room is only 18.5'x13.5'x9' I went for one of the smaller Moose BVR's. So here is my "Variation on a Vampyr".

I like it 🙂
You may try to mount hinged baffles on the sides of mouth

Very nice ... I like 🙂
What products did you use to finish the cabinets?
Those look neat! How long is the rear horn path? Any sand fill? That horn mouth looks exactly like some of the pyramidical microwave horns that I've worked with, right down to the waveguide feeder.

Well... they are not done yet 😉, but right now they have been sanded with P240. I have used a two-component filler ( Biltema Norge ) and then a normal wood primer ( Biltema Norge ).
And since this is a picture thread...

Sorry for the lack of information.
The throat L=140 mm
The speaker used is a Fostex 206E.
Calculations were done with AJHORN
The amplifier is build in. And a measuring was done with DEQX
Damping was done with wool. It had a lot off effect changing and adding this. until I got the best result.
I've had a lot off fun listening to them.
They are stil not painted because the owner doesn't want to stop listening.

Itty bitty FR's for the PC - retro style
Apex Jr dual cone FR drivers.
Routed maple baffle. Feast Watson oil finish.
Hammer-finish spray painted PVC plumbing elbow.
Au-plated binding posts.
I managed retro, I think.
But next time I'm going full-on steam-punk! 🙂
cheers

Those are cool Doug... now you need something with globe or coke bottle valves to drive them.
