Our RH84 was a 7th iteration of SE EL84 (starting as a DEcware clone) and only the output stage is RH84, your power dhould be simialr but the B+ used has significant impact.

Is the 7th iteration discussed anywhere in the forum? Interest on how the the schematics went along .... Thanks

Thanx.
I’m sure it is, perhaps in the RH84 thread.
I have something close to the as built. Mono-bloks, all poly caps in the PS, EF86 triode front, parafeed output stage.

As of this writing I have 2 pairs of each 2 pairs of FH3 and 2 pairs of FHXL. The second pair of XL’s are going to have the extra Baffle so I can change driver fairly easy . First I am going with the not so efficient tang band W6-2144, for the simple reason I never heard a tang band driver!?! My question is does anyone use a Lowther driver in the XL’s for a more efficient driver and which one might work best??? It’s a work in progress, I have too many 2wpc tube amplifiers, thanks
I’d like to thank Bob Berner for his flat pack work on these cabinets , the fact that he’s 30 miles away helps also, great work Bob!!!

I expect that most Lowthers, those that need a horn, would have the same struggles as the Fostex FExx6 seies, but the PM6 (i have done Low-Kens for 2 of them) mght be well suited to Joan. Don’t know about the smaller Lowthers. The Alnico version might have issues with actaully fitting into the box.

Nothing I could recommend. Ignoring the (in most cases) rocketing midrange response, the 5in Lowthers don't really have a spec. that suits this sort of load I'm afraid.
So I also asked about the Tangband W6-2144 which I have on a extra baffle , not necessarily super baffle for ease of changing in the XL’s. I can send the spec sheet on the Tangband and thanks pics if I knew how? I’ll try anyway thanks

W6-2144 - 6.5" Paper Full Range - TB SPEAKER CO., LTD.

On first glance it looks like a decent fit.

Assuming the published data is accurate (just assuming) it should do; it ideally would like a larger horn given that upper-middling Q, but should still have reasonable output in practice.
Could the Dayton PS180-8 be used in the FHXL?
Resonant Frequency (Fs) 58.5Hz
DC Resistance (Re) 6.4Ω
Voice Coil Inductance (Le) 0.63mH
Mechanical Q (Qms) 3.64
Electromagnetic Q (Qes) 0.36
Total Q (Qts) 0.33
Compliance Equivalent Volume (Vas) 1ft³
Mechanical Compliance of Suspension (Cms) 1.05mm/N
BL Product (BL) 6.82T·m
Maximum Linear Excursion (Xmax) 4.6mm
Surface Area of Cone (Sd) 132.7cm²
Looks reasonable. PS220 goes into Joan (just).
Those are the numbers you need to look at. If they are reasonably close to the Alpair 10p you are probably fine, further away it should be modeled.

Hello folks
Can anyone help me with this information.
What would be the f10 of a frugal horn xl with pluvia 11

The horn dominates the response. Ultimate bass extention will depend quite a bit due to placement & room.
Anechoic F10 is about 35 Hz.
