Well, thats interesting points of views and aspects of them both.
But that does not tell the MOST important thing: how they actually will sound in a specific topology.
I dont know yet, but the different beautiful pairs have slightly different curves. 🙂
How much will this affect the sound? As i said, dont know, still building, remains to be measured and possibly heard. 🎺🙂🎸

My choke loaded 2SK180 is at 1/3 of maximum dissipation. I can keep my hand on the naturally cooled heat sink indefinitely so I think I can probably push it a bit more. What is the maximum dissipation that the bravest heart around went with these sits?
My THF-51S mu follower follower is currently running at 3A and 75V (37.5V to the THF-51S) so I am going easy on the THF-51S. This amp has forced air cooling so it also runs cool.
With high dissipation requirements I think forced air cooling is the practical solution.
I will be using forced air cooling with my new amplifier which I'm currently building. During my CCS testing, I used a 120V power supply and set the current to 2.5A, and used a 28 ohm resistor array to simulate the load of the SIT. The dissipation of the MOSFET on the heatsink was about 125 watts and with three 90mm Noctua fans in operation, the heatsink got warm but not hot. I expect adding another 175 watts with the 2SK182ES would not tax the cooling abilities of the system.
The test load resistors got quite hot, though.

My brain goes to @pinholer @Ben Mah and @Zen Mod go to cars and coffee. @pinholer in a 60’s to 70’s GM like a Camaro. Ben shoes up in a MOPAR from similar era. You can hear them coming from the street. ZM shows up in a Yugo. Ben and pinholer have a laugh…. Then zm opens the trunk…. Zm has a collection of 200 unpublished babelfish amps. Ben and pinholer look at each other uncomfortably. They never attend another cars and coffee.

What is that thing?! It looks pretty cool! I took a picture of it and Google Lens struck out in its search.
I wouldn't mind an old late 60s Camaro SS or RS. I actually like cars and I like coffee, too. Got to be careful at cars and coffee, though. Look out for the Mustangs!

Free chat gpt allows you 3 graphics from prompts…. Here is the first one, it wasn’t what I was looking for! What is that thing?

Ah ... I'm a bit slow with this AI thing. Never tried ChatGPT. I do have a Google PIxel phone, though, that is smarter than me!
I'm still struggling to master pencil, calc and back of napkin

I would show up in a 69 Mustang Mach 1 Cobra Jet 428 with a SIT amp powered sound system! 🤓
Us in California would show up in a hybrid. Or perhaps a hydrogen fuel cell..... Just sayin'
I find it odd that Pass still lives in California..... one of these days we may have to contend with regulations that require 90% efficient amplifiers.
Off to Vegas we'll go then.

AC Cobra with an engine from the german tuner Weineck for me - but we get completely off topic! Something for the pub...
Tesla and solar arrays.... Solar Arrays in Coastal NorCal. that's a trooper. Here in Coastal SoCal we get a lot more sunshine in the winter, about the same in June Gloom and the Summer. We plan on doing 12KW but first we need to build a new roof above our 2nd story deck that will face South. The plan is being able to go "Off Grid In Suburbia". ©️
Tesla, it's a very nice car, but I recommend the serial hybrids for utility if you want to go on long drives. The Clarity hydrogen fuel cell was actually better overall -IMHO- but the state is trying to kill off the consumer hydrogen refueling infrastructure.
As a car guy, I enjoy the feel of having the electric motor driving the wheels directly without a multi gear transmission. When the fast lane on the 405 slows down and there's a gap on the number two lane.... left by some hypermiling Prius, you just stomp on the gas, and IMMEDIATELY accelerate into that lane. It's called immediate throttle response with gobs of low down torque.

Back to the SIT5.... Imagine listening to the SIT5 and drinking cold beer during a rolling blackout while the solar cells are on...
Do you have one or more of the battery wall?I have large solar arrays and a Tesla...
For several days I have been listening to and adjusting the amp shown in post #260 https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/first-watt-sit5.418023/post-7909310. The front end based on the "New Stasis Front End" https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/new-stasis-front-end.363701/post-6429624
It is now sounding very good and bench measurements are close to the SIT-5 Owner's Manual. I have been doing A/B comparisons against an XA25 (semi) clone. It is amazing that the simple SIT-5 output stage can produce such a good sound.

This is what is left of a 300w/8r class ab amp that idled at 540va. It was to be repaired but the owner changed his mind so I took it off his hands.
The power supply and the chassis seem good for a stereo sit5 so that’s what I’ll put inside.
