Ah sorry yep that was a mistake. Totally aware of physical limitations with a box this size. Aesthetics definitely play a part - I love the look of the OMA Mini if you’re familiar - heard it many years ago and i was very impressed, then i saw the price tag. I can experiment with lower cost drivers for now, i realize this is part of the fun.
So to summarize you are looking for a decent PA top / 2-way horn design to compliment your sub. Passive. 10” preferably. 40l should be enough if you have a sub. Tune it to 60-70hz for some nice punch or sealed as you mentioned. Coax may be an option if you like that. Eminence Kappalite 3010cx and PSD2013 perhaps? About 1000EUR for complete pair with crossover and box.

Check this design by Michael Chua out. He has a few different designs that would fit what you're looking for, and way less one of the raw axi cd's. You may like the coax Osprey ll also. He just put up a coax 12 br design too. If you like any of those you can email him for design plans for your own personal use.

4.62 mts x 4.62 mts., too much advice without considering the dimensions of the room ......
And some are really wacky.

Avoid me reading the whole thread please.
Can you give me a link and tell me how they will be fed? Just out of curiosity, enjoy them, I don't like spoiling anyone's party.😉

Haha all good, i’m really just looking for advice on drivers - i have the azura 550 (550hz) horns with 2 inch throat
I am going to build the enclosure using a kit from parts express
I want to keep it simple, passive, 2 way, and ideally no bigger than 1.5 cubic foot for the woofer enclosure
nothing less, nothing more
a good, sensitive 10 in woofer
everything else running through the upper mid / high freq horn
will be paired with a pair of 12” subs from martin logan (i already have these)

Okay, so you are building these because you like the looks of the azura horn. Sorry to distract you.
Parts-express.com doesn't show them and I'm getting bizarre links from search engine bing https://tse1.mm.bing.net/th?&id=OVP.QEWfg2bFhdivSQfBbsoV3AEsDh&w=368&h=207&c=7&pid=1.7&rs=1
however azurahorn.com seems to fit the description.
Pretty but bounce a lot of sound off the acoustic tile ceiling & carpet floor.
See this link discussing odd behavoir of coaxial speakers: A problem that plagues most coaxials
I'm sticking with single cone woofer, 2way for simplicity, & no subwoofer for 90% of the day due to room heating of 2 amps.
David Weems design tools you pick your lower bass limit frequency, the Q which determines boomy bass (6 db rise before fall) or flat (classical) then Qt & VAS of driver, then his charts give you box size & size of ports if needed. You could go backwards from box size I suppose, to determine your lower frequency.
Eminence states Qt<.4 is for ported, above is for sealed.

Am I misunderstanding or does the OP want to use a horn designed for mid / high frequencies (+ 500HZ) simultaneously with a coaxial strut that already has its own tweeter?
I think I'll have to stop drinking or I'm missing something .... ......

I think you should stop drinking haha
This is a 2 way design
Woofer for low frequency
Horn for mid/high

ok, but why do GM add a link that deals with the coaxial speaker problems ?
Pretty confusing all over ...... 😕

Yes, I guess the answer, ask him ...
I will not bother anymore, I hope your project is as great as you wish!

Post 22 suggests an eminence coaxial 10". With a CD horn that goes down to 550 hz no reason to open that can of worms. eminence Deltapro10 allegedly handles 52 hz to 4k hz, good for sealed box, should have no beaming problems below 1000 hz. Just simpler. May be cheaper options in UK. Eminence is a bargain here.ok, but why do GM add a link that deals with the coaxial speaker problems ?

I had not read post 22, thanks for clarifying. I use several Eminence speakers in my system, and yes, their price / quality ratio is optimal.
