FaitalPro 3FE22 projects (nice little full range driver!)

Inspired by the IMP loudspeaker. Not sure if printable like this, it calls for a 24h print. I am not sure I dare🙂

So the Single Speaker Stereo box is finished. No psycho-acoustic filter, it is temporarily replaced with a piece of cloth damping the direct HF. I did just a small test drive and with a subwoofer it seems it will work pretty well. I will later print some frames with magnets to fit on the hex screws for looks and protection. I will experiment with various materials for damping the direct HF, maybe even print some sort of diffuser.

Here's some inspiration:
Remember the BRIO Clone, how about this with the Faital 3fe22 & Peerless Passive radiator (s)

( Audience The ONE V3 $1695)

(1+1 V3 $2960) (GAK the prices)

Yes the Faital won't go as low as the Audience, but considering the (HUGE) price difference, you only lose the bottom octave.

@ChrisABC The V3 1+1 is a nice inspiration indeed. 2x 3FE22 and one or two woofers with a DSP amp could be interesting. The price of the original is quite reasonable for what it is, unfortunately I highly doubt there would be a pair to listen to or buy locally. And even if yes, the 20% VAT would ruin the deal.

I would love to hear your thoughts on these. Been tinkering with the SSS idea for a while now. Like the idea of physically damping the front driver. Should preserve any low-mids from the sides that gets lost in the filter. Could be adapted into a Tabaq or Pencil design.

Another project being printed right now is inspired by Aura Audio (F1) and works of Patrick Bateman and norman bates. The printed waveguides are stackable with holes for M6 threaded rod for alignment. This can be expanded to a full line array just by stacking more units on top of each other. If this proves to be better than just a simple array (I can make it up to 12 drivers high like martinsson's columns), the waveguide will be machined out of wood and willbe a part of the front baffle.I
Nice. I have been interested in a midrange array for a while now and this looks very interesting and cheap to try out.
I would probably be driving out of my second minidsp channel in the 300-2400Hz range.
A couple of questions: how do you chose and connect drivers? Parallel, series, or each one with its own amp? What impedance driver do you pick?
I see you made a flange to adapt to the horn, what about the enclosure for the driver? What size did you make that?
thanks!

@danb11 It works pretty well if you have a proper room for it. Damping the direct sound with a cloth seems to work fine as well - blocking the direct sound makes the stereo effect better. Definitely worth trying out, even a rigid carton box would work (Elias did that).

@grataku It is still work in progress. I wanted to try out same baffle width as the Aura or just make a common box around the horns. Wiring series-parallel for 8 ohms total. I am waiting for 4.8 mm fastons to arrive. And also for some free time for cutting the boards.

It looks great!👍 Making the horns/wave guides maybe out of my reach and ability. How did you manage to get those Aura-like shapes? Apologies if I didn't catch it in your earlier posts.
