FaitalPro 3FE22 projects (nice little full range driver!)

I started this thread to document my projects with this little driver. I put it into the multiway forum, since most (if not all) projects cannot be used really as standalone speakers. I ordered 26 units on sale, so now I have 36 pieces in total.

It all started with the 34c9 project: My 34c9 (omnidirectional full range with 3FE22) build

I use 4 units as midranges for my AMT Synergy: ESS AMT-1 in my projects

Another project is hornloading the 3FE22 with a large CD horn. It will need quite a bit of EQ. The adapter is 3D printed, ready for measurements.

Another project being printed right now is inspired by Aura Audio (F1) and works of Patrick Bateman and norman bates. The printed waveguides are stackable with holes for M6 threaded rod for alignment. This can be expanded to a full line array just by stacking more units on top of each other. If this proves to be better than just a simple array (I can make it up to 12 drivers high like martinsson's columns), the waveguide will be machined out of wood and willbe a part of the front baffle.

On Aura site I saw this 4 drive array has a 10 degree vertical dispersion. I am curious also about this one, when you have listening impressions, please share. Thanks!

Another quick and crazy project (I needed to test my printer with to the max dimension and for print quality during long prints), so I made a 3D printed monster K-Tube for a 3FE22. It is still standing on the printer, it took 11 hours to print.

Some quick measurements. It seems that the 2380A horn with the adapter is not worth pursuing further. I will try the 2385 if the narrower horn has better gain.

On the other hand, the small Aura-like waveguide looks promising - at least it does not hurt the response much on axis.

These are not proper measurements, but they serve as comparison and indication of what is going on.

At 10', for my 4 x tg9, the vertical sweet spot, you have to be between the top and bottom driver.

So laying on the couch, when you stand, highs go away.
If i add more drivers, combing will be a problem, then needing hf boost.

But i figured as much.

Audioexpress did a test on the 3.5" celestion an3510, notice the freq response when you have a 9 driver array.

Even the review of the mtttm in soundstage "as long as i remained seated...... but when i stood up, most of the mids and highs disappeared, leaving a sound thst was incredibly dull..... it is a sit down and listen speaker."

Neat thread! I put two 3FE22's as the mid injection on a tractrix. It got some crazy high sensitivity (as expected) but I was hoping it would go a bit higher before having the bandpass notch show up.

Nano-Trynergy - a Compact Tractrix RAAL Ribbon Point-Source Horn

The apex driver was a RAAL ribbon and that has some issues when horn loaded as well.

With the above, here was what I was able to achieve with an active XO:

I never resolved how to get rid of the dip on the RAAL when installed in the tractrix - which I suspect is wall-to-wall interference from the semi parallel walls of a tractrix.
