@tamra
Did you use Toshiba 2SK1530 at Q1 and Q2?
Has anyone tried Toshiba2SK1530 at Q1 and IXTH64N10L2 at Q2?
Time to rebuild my F6 (Tea Bag boards blue LEDs etc) which currently has IRFP 150 at Q1 and Q2. I will do 2pico mods
Thanks
Bob

Must be done exactly as described.
Vishay IRFP250 (not IRFP150)
Ixys IXTH64N10L2
Yes I do and also use 3.2k resistors- it should be relatively easy on the Tea Bag board.
Cool - good luck with the changes and it would be nice to see pics. 🙂
2 pico - I will do exactly as described
pics will follow in a week? or so 😉
thank you

I have used 2sk1530 both Q1 and Q2 with 0.22ohm source resistor. No other change.@tamra

I have not done pico's mod without led.
tamra,
If I am not wrong Toshiba 2SK1530 is a T0-220 part and smaller than the TO-247 devices that the PCB is design for.
How are you connecting the 2SK1530 - is it using leads (wires)?

I connected with copper wire.
Actually one of 2sk1530 leg was easily snapped when I tried to bend.

Yes,I surprised 2 legs snapped.That shouldn't happen.
Copper is extremely ductile.
But sound is very good.
Green LED References
R7 Anything between 2k and 3.3k
R8 Same as R7
Q1 IRFP250 (do not use IRFP150), - IRFP140 might be suitable but this has not been tested as yet.
Q2 IXTH64N10L2
R1 0.22 Ohms
R2 0.22 Ohms
R3 100 Ohms
R2 Anything between 20 and 23 Ohms
Bias around 1.5A to 1.75A
This will get you J2/Aleph J like operation without needing to degenerate - but also with the additional benefit of Class AB operation.
I am considering to do this mod over xmas. What is the recommended power-rating for R1 and R2?
Thanks for sharing. Awesome 🙂
Just so there is no mistake
Q1 IRFP250 (Vishay)
Q2 IXTH64N10L2 (Ixys)
What sort of matching is to be done regarding Q1 and Q2? Getting ready to order some and wondering how many assuming some kind of matching is required...
Thanks,
