Mikerodrig27 - the F6 is a great first “big” amp to build. And it sounds incredible, you’ll love it!

Mikerodrig27 - I too will echo Mr. 6L6.
I’ve been playing my F6 8 hours a day for that 10 days
it sounds very good & easy to listen. It was fun to build.

6l6, I appreciate your contributions as well! I have read through the F6 build guide. Very good for someone who is breaking into this hobby!
Monk55. I had all the parts in the shopping cart this morning to figure the cost out. I just put a few things up for sale. As soon as a few old things go out the door, I think I am going to purchase the F6 parts. I missed the boat on the Korg B1 project.

Mikerodrig27, I’m jumping in as well. Nice to learn from your questions. The build may be a bit of a stretch, but I’m up for it.
No other changes required.
I haven't confirmed that Vishay IRFP140 has similar transconductance values to IRFP250, but I think they should be close enough.

and all! Happy holidays. My F6 is running beautifully. I come by here time to time. And I see 2 picoDumbs guarding the area with dedication. I wish that the whole world would be able to learn and work together as one humanity.
This site is demonstrating such a ideal so beautifully. So, it can be done!
anyways have a wonderful holiday season.
BTW, i am about to pursue Pearl 2. Looking to build a PSU first with a 22v+22
trans and 4 8600uf caps. I will report in. Again, thank you good people!

I am hoping that Santa is reading this. Better yet, I hope he is not self quarantined. 😀 Many children would be so sad:😱
LOL! Yaho, if you haven't seen the story behind NORAD and the tracking of Santa, it may be yet another heart-warmer for this year. I had heard the origin years ago, but they they interviewed the colonel's family this year. I can't find a video of the broadcast I saw, but here's the story in print, if you had never seen it.

Getting to the point, they had Dr. Anthony Fauci on the news stating that he had personally vaccinated jolly ol' St. Nick and given him the A-OK as a front-line essential worker with full immunology checks. Here's another similar broadcast.
😀

Happy Holidays!

That is so awesome. Giving hope to our children...how wonderful. And they need hope as I've witnessed how some of the children lost their parent and in rare occassions both. So sad. But they take the next step towards the unknown future with the help of those who are willing to lend their hands to help.Fauci tells kids not to worry, he gave Santa Claus the Covid-19 vaccine
I am absolutely confident of this. My B1 Korg and F6 are awesome. Far better than what i have been building in the last 20 years. I am thinking about selling most of my tube collections.P.S. ... You’ll love the Pearl 2.
OTOH, my son and I are getting off the self quarantine today! Free at last !

The wattage rating of the F5 can be doubled by increasing the voltage of the power supply from 24v to 32v. Can this also be done with the F6? Would this fry the jfet gain stage? Would the heat sinking of the 5U chassis be adequate? Answers to these questions would be greatly appreciated.
I would go with cascoding of input JFets and recalculating of resistor in biasing networks
that'll do the job
5U/400 chassis will do, though more than 35W of heat per device is not advisable
so , you'll need to double them - matched pair down, matched pair up

When you say Jfet. I am assuming you mean the input jfets.
I designed a high power version, JPS did the pcb for it.
He might have some pcbs left.
