Success drilling and tapping was greatly improved for me when I started using guide blocks. Keeps everything straight to avoid binding. You can make them yourself or buy them. And as advised Tap Magic or such.
Yup, I use a Big Gator drill guide too for drilling and tapping. I don't have room to store a drill press so I use an electric hand drill and the drill guide for vertical alignment. The drill guide is used to align the tap vertically before starting the tap.

The above is a great start.

How could you drill the straight holes, if you can't drill a straight hole?
Decades of work by hand can match most 'machine tool' operators of today. Eyesight and technique. How could you drill the straight holes, if you can't drill a straight hole?
Best answer if you can't do the job, don't. 🤔
^ With more expensive tools, of course. 😁
So I buy an expensive tool to make a cheap tool. Got it.
Think I'll stay with sendcutsend and front panel express.
I can't show this now as the glare is way too much. Soon maybe the chassis for the F5m will be able to accept the bits and a camera can photo it.How could you drill the straight holes, if you can't drill a straight hole?
Chassis is built in a bedroom lab drilled and tapped by hand.
Out of 5/8 aluminum plate.
It can be done.
Only if you can't afford the time. Before Milling Machines hand files and chisels were used. The first Brown and Sharp milling cutters design were based on files. So I buy an expensive tool to make a cheap tool. Got it.

If you photograph in ambient light, there won't be much glare.
I tried. It's polished as a mirror. I need the side panels made and installed. If you photograph in ambient light, there won't be much glare.
No one here wants to see an old man in the reflection. Not pretty.
I have a Deckel FP1 (blatantly showing off) but have not been within 3 meters of it in 2 decades.Only if you can't afford the time. Before Milling Machines hand files and chisels were used. The first Brown and Sharp milling cutters design were based on files.
Yes you are. In spades.I have a Deckel FP1 (blatantly showing off)
It must be hugged everyday!!!
I made a Thing! My son finally dragged me kicking and screaming into the 21st century, and gave me a crash course in CAD modeling. As well, MicroCenter is blowing out the previous-gen Ender 3 for the ridiculously-low price of $150 -- how could I resist?
I'll probably print a second pair with high-temperature filament just to be sure, but for now, everything fits comfortably in the 3U Dissipante Mini -- mission accomplished!

I took the plate outside as you suggested. All I can show is all those black holes are drilled/tapped by hand in the plate. In a bedroom with that handrill and tap magic using a tap holder in the drill.
