Adding insult to injury!i did the mistake of telling my wife

No date has been set yet, as far as we know.new batch of F5m kits will be available in diystore?
More teasing. Out with the previous, in with mischievous.
I have everything connected. Ready for power testing and then bias/offset setting. After other weekend plans for today.
Happy building, all!

That's great @von Ah ! Did you buy the 3U Mini with all the machining for back panel and heats sinks as an add on feature/cost?
The fact that my mini 3U has a blank back plate and no UMS was another reason to go the 4U deluxe route for my build. I wish I had paid extra to have all the machining added.
Your making great progress!

Thanks, @birdbox.
Yes, I had Gianluca machine all those cutouts in the backplate of this Mini 3U300. I knew I wanted to be able to swap out different amp boards (plus heatsinks) over time. This backplate has all the options I want: Neutrik-compatible cutouts for Powercon in (from my external power supply), input, output, and the standard Schurter IEC inlet opening (if I use the chassis with its own PSU). I also drilled a hole for a banana safety earth connection from my PSU.
The amp filter cap boards stay with the chassis from the last amp boards that were in here (F7ish). They are the last C in my CLCRC power supply.
The heatsinks were drilled by me. I had played with using thick aluminum heat spreader plates attached to these sinks previously, but that was more hassle than I expected. I’m no good at tapping aluminum, so I merely drill holes between the fins for bolts.

question for someone with experience: will a Antek 400VA transformer fit vertically inside the 4U deluxe chassis for this build? I presume so, but.....
Yep, it'll fit fine. Here's a pic of AS-3218 (right) next to AS-4218 (left), both on Transformer Chassis Seats in 4U Deluxe.
Thanks! i'm loving those 3D printed seats you made for the transformer. I wish i had the resources to make one where i'm at
Hi @birdboxSTL (actually .3MF) file for the Transformer Chassis Seat is attached to that post (#801) free for all to use however they see fit. It's embedded in the zip file.
Sorry to bother you with this. I tried ordering a few Xtrm base from JLCPCB but it’s not a compatible file type, they only accept the following; STL, STP, STEP, OBJ.
Is there an easy to convert your file?
TIA,
Eric
I have 5 "Transformer Chassis Seat" kits made up exactly as I used. I am giving these away for free (1 per person please) as long as interested person covers shipping. I prefer to have a shipping label sent to me so no monetary transaction is needed. @soltung and @e_fortier have dibs on two if they want them.
Please PM me for details. I'll provide package size/weight and address to allow you to create your own shipping label. I have used PirateShip.com with great success.
I'd appreciate if the folks who grab these simply provide me some feedback on what does, and does not, work well with this design. I'm already working version 2 that incorporates a slot for those who wish to have 'lip up' for the bottomed perforated plate which allows the transformer seat to sit over the lip to get as close to front of chassis as possible. This first version works fine lip down, but I'm happy to include version 2 if you prefer.
I'll be sure post STL files and 3MF files on all future posts with 3D prints attached. (Embedded in zip file of course)
Here's what version 2 looks like installed.
