...I went back to the pFET discussion between jgf and SY. .
I don't see this. Also "See Linear Audio thread" (by S??) I don't know where that is either. I don't see any forum at LA. What am I missing?
Apologies. I really did look!
Thanks
Doug

For the discussion on available and appropriate pFETs, look at posts 92, 94, 99, and 100 of this thread. Basically, for this project you need 4 matched pairs with the lowest noise choices in the input stage.
As for the LA thread, I don't know of any forum on that subject. There is great information in the articles on the "The Equal Opportunity" written by SY for LA in vol 7 and 8. They can be purchased form LA as individual articles here;

Thanks Lehmanhill. I did miss #94.
The reference to the LA thread was Sy's post #28
Must have referred to something else.
Everyone:
I just ordered 2SJ107BL from MCM athttp://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/P-2SJ107BL
But it says shipping from an external warehouse in 21 days, so whether I get any or not remains to be seen.

There's a thread on the forum here that is used to announce new issues of LA and some general discussion of its contents. A quick forum search should turn it up.
I'd give you a link, but I'm on my phone and it's hard for old eyes and fat fingers to do searches.😀
Looks like we're in the same boat. I actually only ditched my flip-phone a month ago because my daughter had an old iPhone not being used. I'm a dinosaur.
BTW, I would be happy to do some woodworking for you in return all the favors bestowed on us electronically-challenged folks.

Be careful what you offer! 😀
Hi SY
I'm serious. You've given us/me so much! I like to build stuff. In progress: RLD amp, Poinz 6T4 preamp, your EE phono, sub-woofers for Ariel speakers.

You are one ambitious guy! I can almost forgive you for living in the Land Of The Irsays. I'll be happy to swap you electronics help, my woodworking skills are limited to making a lopsided popsicle-stick log cabin when I was in summer camp.
So SY,
As much as you may miss Texas, there are some good things in the mid-West. It appears that Doug is one of them.
Nice offer Doug.

Confirmation Please
I've got an order going into Mouser for another project, so I thought I would put some parts for this project on the order as well.
Looking at the volume 8 article, both schematic and BOM, C22 is shown as a 220 uF electrolytic cap. On the later schematics downloaded from the LA site, C22 is shown as a 1 nF and the board reflects the smaller cap with 5 mm lead spacing.
Can I assume that the 1 nF C22 is the correct value?

The schematics on Jan's site have a lot of placeholder values. The article schematic and BOM are correct. The 220u caps I used had 5mm spacing. The value there isn't critical, it stabilizes the regulator, so if it's easier to use, say, 100u, that will work fine.
Thanks for the clarification.
Looks like 220 uF will be OK.
To others ordering parts for C22, take care with the diameter of the electrolytic. 8 mm diameter should fit, but 10 mm will be a squeeze.

If it doesn't require at least two 19" rack boxes it's a 'small' preamp 😛
Now you see why Jack was looking at laying out a smaller board. I need a balanced line stage so will be trying to fit 6 boards in a case.
