I have an unexpected problem that may be caused by the power supply I installed, Meanwell RT-50B. Often Najda does not wake from standby after several hours (> 8). 😕
Najda requires very little current in standby mode, probably less than the PS minimum for proper operation.
RT-50B Specs:
5V, 0.5 - 5A
12V, 0.2 - 2.5A
-12V, 0.1 - 1A
What are standby requirements?
Remove this PS from the resource list?
Good option used by others: TDK-Lambda MTW30, 0A minimum on all three outputs.
I have tested both (Meanwell and TDK) and I highly recommend the TDK as beside the 0 current requirement to work, it has separate ground for the 5V and the +/- 1xV. So ground management is done on the Najda board.

It's unfortunate that the 30W version of the MTW is out of stock. I can see that the 15W is still on stock.
With 2A available on 5V, 300mA on +12V and 200mA on -12V; it is enough to power the Najda board according to the consumptions I have measured at that time. I don't remember the exact values but it was around 0.5A/5V, 150mA/+12V and 100mA/-12V. Someone could confirm this maybe ?
I'm sure others will come up with other power supplies that have tested and even Nicolas will give you some references when he will be available on line

I have another question concerning the signal path:
is it possible to replace all capacitors in the signal path by short circuit in order to realize DC-coupling ?
That's not possible on the inputs. The capacitor is also used here for biasing the input signal (inputs to the ADC are symmetrical).

I've tried the system on Windows 8 and I confirm it works fine.

The MTW30 is indeed out of stock presently and that's unfortunate.
The MTW15 is big enough though for powering the Najda alone.

44.1 kHz and multiples are probably never going to be supported. Keep in mind that processing parameters (in particular filter coefficients) are only valid for the selected DSP sampling rate.

Same "wakeupproblem" here with the TDK MTW30.
It seems so that the TDK MTW30 is not "no minimum load" capable!

I'm not sure I understand, I checked your link about the new datasheet and I still can read 0 minimum current load for the MTW30
Concerning the standy mode of Najda, I would like you to measure the current drawn on the 5V line for the Najda board in Standby mode. As far I remember when I checked it , the current drawn is not in the mA range... So it looks to me that it's could come from elsewhere...

I took some PS measurements and everything looks good. The problem is also random. Perhaps Najda is working too hard and sleeping late

I'd like to place an order soon, for a main board, extension board and kit front-panel; would you be able to ship them to the UK before Christmas? I know you have other commitments, so it's not a deal-breaker!
I'm not sure if anyone else would be interested, but how difficult would it be (in software) to offer an SPI feed for an array of 74HC595 ICs? I will use the front panel for setting up and de-bugging, but in an ideal world I would like to have a minimalist case, with (for example) eight LEDs for input, mute & sample rate and sixteen or thirty-two for volume level (dot or bar?). There are plenty of breakout boards for the IC available, and the SPI stream could also be used as feedback for anyone that wants to have a single display with an Arduino preamp/switcher - control by IR, feedback by SPI.
Anyway, great product; can't wait for to get my hands on one! 🙂

The SMPSs suggested in the Najda builds resource list are out of stock (TDK MTW30 and Skynet 9021-1) or not reliable, as it seems - see post by dvogel1 (Meanwell RT-50B).
(If expansion board is sold out, this question is obsolete, in this case TDK MTW15-51212 is the choice as it seems, even though it does not meet the requirements of the "startup-guide"😕)

The main board and control kit are in stock. The expansion board will not be available until JAN 2015 I'm afraid.
As for your suggestion, the SPI bus is present on the expansion ports so this shouldn't be a problem at the hardware level. I'm however questioning whether this would be of any use as most of the info you need are already displayed on the LCD. Let's see what other users think about it.

The MTW-15 will work fine with the Najda board and the control kit. It's maybe a bit weak for a set including also the analogue expansion, I'd need to test this.

I also power my Raspberry Pi from it (from the 5V rail), but in the beginning I was only running the Najda.

It's 6,8uF Wima MKS2 for lows and analog input, and 1uF Wima MKS02 for mids and highs.
In lack of an A/B possibility can't say for sure if it had an impact on the sound - but it feels good and looks good too! : )
