i go trough the scematic and look over my psb cant find any fault.
i took some pictures.
if someone has any ideas what i can do i would be happy.
ps its the left channal that is low volume, i turn the balance all the way to left to get equal signal...but i cant use tone controll because off the whining noise.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
Dont want to intrude on trouble shooting issues but this is the right place to post. Maybe I can help on TS also. Finally got around to putting into proper case. If anyone needs FPD files that work I can supply. I offboarded volume pot and changed lettering from Carls files. Kind of a throwback to the 1U pres from the 80's and 90's

Tommi,
BTW did you build up your own ribbon cables? I had the most issues with cabling getting PIN for PIN matchup and the selector switch with the ribbon connector header pin 1 pinout. Look that over carefully took me 2-3 times to get everything just right.

Hi
Yes its difference when i move The tone contrll, The biggest difference its The treble range its start to feed... Like feedback from a mic to loudspeaker.
I buy standard ribbon cable ready with contacts

So are you saying that with the tone control switch in it has feedback and when it is out it doesn't?? Important to completely understand the symptoms
Yes IF I turn it off or turn down to lowest on The treble scale its get less and disapear.
But with out tone contrll its sounds good
Just That The left channal its half The output

To try to narrow down where the issue is, remove A4 and see if the volume is louder with the tone control switch in bypass. Do the same with A3 removed.
Nice build! 🙂No need for me to undock anything without having a motor pot 😀Dont want to intrude on trouble shooting issues but this is the right place to post. Maybe I can help on TS also. Hey nice build Zep! I thought it was mine until I looked closer. Cool looking little Zep graphic. I need to come up with something like that for myself. What brand knobs are you using? Never would have thought how much time I would spend looking for knobs.
Thanks 😀 I was very much tempted to try those UV printed panels. Guess you could do cool stuff with it 😎Hey nice build Zep! I thought it was mine until I looked closer. Cool looking little Zep graphic. I need to come up with something like that for myself.
But, of course: Most of the credits go to Carl for providing the fpd files where 90% of the work is already done.
I know exactly what you mean 🙄What brand knobs are you using? Never would have thought how much time I would spend looking for knobs.
The volume knob is a Mentor 9900000421250. But take care: I think I used a shorter pot for this one, as the knob can handle 13mm max.
The other knobs: I think they were from eBay. They are like 20mm in both, length and diameter.
Slimline 1U right here from the DIY store. Will have to ship off front and back panels to FPD for machine work.

Understand. I decided to Offboard to allow bigger volume knob and allow knob to more balance the look of the front panel. Offset right.
The case on the photo above is a different model.Slimline 1U right here from the DIY store. Will have to ship off front and back panels to FPD for machine work.
@Freecrowder > Nice work on your preamplifier. I would be interested in you Front Panel files if you don't mind. By the way, your inbox is full.
If you mean the one I used: it's an el cheapo @henri.de, #52-625-00598.The case on the photo above is a different model.
