Giving the PSU calculator of @fireanimal one more swing, now putting in some values applicable to my own situation.
Each channel has 2 Seas Exel drivers, sensitivity 88 dB, nominal 8 ohm. 8/2=4
Playing an 40 year fav song of my, Dire Straits - Private Investigations, with according dr.loudness-war.info a dynamic range of 18
Listening at a distance of 3.5 meter. (the room is 7 meters)
At 93 dB SPL its close to clipping according the calculator, now that's not frightening me, but I'm glad I choose a 2 X 45 volts toroidal and nothing less.
Further more, Dire Straits Private Investigations is not a difficult song for an amp, so I wonder what dynamic range some other fav of mine might have. More difficult songs, not listed on dr.loudness-war.info For example;
Damien Rice - Eskimo
Mozart's Opera die Zauberflöte, with a powerful soprano like Diana Damrau preforming Die Königin der Nacht.

This is why people multi amp their system.
Must be a high frequency spike. If your amp clips at 20k like at 1k you are not likely to notice until the clip is 20% or more.

I find though a lot of high dynamic range songs are played at a lower RMS level to begin with so that will give extra headroom there. There is a lot of orchestra that can reach upwards of 30 dB or more but you won't be listening to that at 90 to 93 dB RMS more likely in the mid to high 70s. Through on a song grab your SPL meter and measure to know for sure, but please don't use the phone apps unless they have been calibrated or they won't give accurate results.
I am glad we are not neighbors. 😉
I use sox to find the peak-to-average ratio. 20dB is great for a rock recording. Classical will have a few dB more.
But... my listening levels are low. A scope on the output shows 0.4v peak. 🙂
(Different amplifier, inefficient 4 ohm speakers).

If you are looking for high dynamic range classical music take a look at DSD streams or SACDs if you can play either. Otherwise, there are a lot of 24-bit recordings available from Presto, many of which can be downloaded. Unfortunately, there are many re-issues from the 60s through 80s before recording was reliably digital, and those will not measure up. WDR recordings of Shostakovich tend to have wide dynamics, and some excellent performances (sot all, of course).
Oooohhh and, @stuartmp, please PM me with instructions on how I could source some of you Ground Lifter boards 🙂
I'm going to share that project on pcbway so you guys can purchase your own GLift boards.

Maybe if someone in Australia orders some they can send me some as I just gave away my last two

Hi OmeEd
You should hear the oper 'Die Zauberflöte' where the Queen of the night is performed by Lucia Popp, Der Hölle Rache is the best I have until now heart here home from my CDs. Sorry, Diana Damrau has not registered Mozart's Die Zauberflöte on a CD, so I have no opinion about how she sings, but it is difficult to get this oper better registered than what has done the EMI Classics Great Recordings Of The Century with Otto Klemperer and many other great singers (Gedda, Janowitz, Berry, Unger, Popp, Frick, Schwarzkopf, Ludwig, Pütz, Höffgen, Crass).
Best regards

Diana Damrau is a recognized celebrity among opera enthusiasts, she amassed an impressive collection of honors and awards.
There is a DVD of her performance as queen of the night at Covent Garden London 2003. Catalog Number: OA0886D There are clips on youtube.

I am not familiar with a recording on CD
I very rarely listen to opera without a moving image. To me, opera is a meeting of composer, vocalists, orchestra, acting, costumes, drama, audience, implementation and hall ambiance, where every aspect should enhance the overall quality.
Now back on topic, amp building.

Judging by the value of R6 its someone who likes 71V rails.
I am also interested in the now split R21, I assume it has taken the spot of former C11 and I am wondering how it is routed back to the tmc selector link on the PCB.

After selecting my rail voltage (64V) I now realize I need to find some suitable capacitors for the power supply. I’m planning on using the diyAudio store Universal Power Supply Board. I am finding few if any options for 80V+ 35mm diameter caps. Does anyone at this rail voltage or higher going with a linear power supply have a suggestion for some suitable capacitors.
Hi can you give me the Mouser code of the green NP cap 220uf/35V? MUSE?Back on Topic then 😀 Pair of IPS's I just finished today for an EF3-4 build. Nothing fancy but they turned out good, and will look great on the finished EF3-4.
Thanks.

Hi Guy's here is the T-Ground PCB.@stuartmp how about the "T" ground board also, so simple, but so nice, just like the Glift.

Sure. 647-UES1V221MHMHi can you give me the Mouser code of the green NP cap 220uf/35V? MUSE?
Thanks.
