Hmm…the Hubble had technical problems after initial launch. Probably not related to resistor values🤞
so if I can't find a 0.33 OHM for R8, can I use a 0.3 OHM instead?Absolutely. This is not the Hubble telescope. 100k will work fine as an example.
You must mean R10 as R8 is 0.75R.
0.36R is better than 0.30R. 0.36R will drop a tiny bit more voltage but it will do a bit better at power supply filtering.

Yup!, I meant R10. Thanks for the tip!You must mean R10 as R8 is 0.75R.

Any suggestions on where to find the lsk170 and lsj74? I found all other items from mouser.
Thank you
Thank you

I had a question regarding those two JFETs as well. DIY Store has the LS LSK170 but not the LS LSJ74, They only offer the Toshiba 2SJ74, So the question is can I mismatch brands, get the LS LSK170 and mix it with the TSHB. 2SJ74, or should I just get them both Toshiba?
Thank you all for your help.
You need matched K170/J74. Get this -
- NP Quad (NNPP)
- Toshiba 2SK170/2SJ74 Quad Idss 8-11mA - $45
Great, thanks 6L6.You need matched K170/J74. Get this -

How about this "major brand" R33
Are you sure? Doesn't he wand the Idss in the 6-8mA range? You need matched K170/J74. Get this -

Subbu, those black resistors look so cool, especially on the red backdrop of that PCB. What brand/series are they?Another successful "Almost Clone" build - Thanks to Mark Johnson and Nelson Pass.
Completed the build last evening with IR MOSFETs. Sounds really nice. Here are some pictures of the build.
Wooden base was built by my son.
You can mix the Toshiba and LS. Recommended that each polarity N or P from the same sourceHey,

Those are VISHAY RS series. The part numbers are RS02B1R000FE70, RS02BR7500FE12.Subbu, those black resistors look so cool, especially on the red backdrop of that PCB. What brand/series are they?

I'm pretty sure 6-8mA is correct. It's somewhere in the first few pages of the thread.
Thanks for the info! You can mix the Toshiba and LS. Recommended that each polarity N or P from the same source

That's good to know.

Look in the document the schematics: the bridge between wiper and cw pins is included. So it can be used with higher idss than 6 ma.They shipped with 6 ma idss. For less they might need a larger value on the pot.
If you use more than 7 ma I recommend bridging the wiper and cw pins on the pot to keep the Vds of the jfets at an adequate voltage. The idss limit on the jfets would be that of dissipation, but there is little advantage to the higher values.
The first set of boards did not have the pot wiper connected to the cw pin in spite of the schematic, but was not an issue with 6 ma Idss. At higher Idss it would eventually compromise the Vds window of the input jfets.. Not a big issue, but the bridge (found in future version) allows Idss above 8 ma without issues.
