Glad you're well again.
Hey Sound-Blaster,nice amp build,

exactly!!!! the same length

I really do not know what happened with Nordic
He used to be sick, and this produces some concerns in my heart.
But also he could buy, those last monthes, his father house back again...and he intended to fix all stuff into this house...maybe.
I am having deep worries and concerns about him.

Carlos

Yes Hugh...i know that... thank you.
I am fine, now healing, blood numbers fine, blood pressure fine, no fever.... belly changing color and infection is turning dry.... really healing.
I was saved because fat...if the infection touched the peritônius, the muscle we have around our internal organs..then i would be in the heaven playing music with the anjos (or in the hell...not very sure about).
The fat shield protected me against super infection, the septicemia... general infection...that hell thing, when installed...we can order our coffin because is a non return travell.
hehehe....to be fat was good!..... interesting that.... first time i perceive, with joy, that the fact to be fat was good.
Interesting, everything started with a nail scratching my belly... 24 hours latter i was burning in fever and belly was red and i felt it burned...alike burned from fire or boiling oil or boiling watter... terrible pain!
The limits between to be alive or dead is very small... a very thin gap..we can cross the limits very easy.... better to be happy and to enjoy life, not wasting a single minute with foolishes.
be happy dear Hugh...i will listen Maya today.
regards,
Carlos

And you are one of the best designers we have
Not pride alike many others we know.... has deep knowledge and produce things pretty and clean.
There are others...many others, that thinks that complicating the amplifier will sound better..in the reality they are exercising their rigth to show themselves as great designers (because complicated things)...but unfortunattely, some complicated designs do not sound good... your circuit is not too much complicated, has not a chip into the feedback line or some sophisticated correction network...and sounds delicious.
Also,...complicating things they loose the chance to have people building...and what means to listen something alone, not sharing...emptyness...lonelyness... crude exercise of selfish and pride...so... highly clever folks to design...and not too much intelligent to make it easy to be used, not very clever related our DIY communitty to shown things only they will enjoy.
Humans are social animals..we leave together...we share things, we are complementary... we still use to sit around the fire as we did thousand years ago (barbecue...also family dinner)...what means to see a DVD movie inside your home...only you and wife sharing.... when you have cable TV, with thousands watching the same movie you are watching, then you feel yourself connected with more people...reason why people use to enjoy to watch broadcasting television or cable tv and felt less pleasant to watch, lonely, a DVD inside home..... the need to share experiences is something human... reason why we had groups, tribes, communities and so on.
I think you are precious to our forum... deeply respected you are.

Carlos

Hi, Albin. I agree with your suggestions. The DX Amp will be disassembled and built in a new enclosure in the future, with the wiring best fitted. 🙂
This was a test build on a wood board as a way to be easily modified, my first DIY amplifier indeed.
The board will be used on my next experiments.
Hi, Carlos. Nice to read you again. 😀
Best Regards.

We all wish you a speedy recovery, but you need to take the proper time and care with yourself.
Please do not push that "nitro" button...
How does that bench of yours look now?

Beautifull having the Osciloscope you gave me Duda
but very messy.... i had not time and health to use the bench...now a days just layed down wainting to be 100 percent healed.
I hope you are fine Duda.

Thanks uncle Charlie,
That is one of the few things which define us as humans ... the need to share, to not be alone, to not be selfish.
Thanks again,
Mihai

Cousin Charlie - I am transmitting good thoughts and feelings towards you and your recovery!!! I have even taken off my tin foil hat so as to not interfere with the thought waves.
As far as the boys coming around your beautiful daughter - just leave your shotgun out in a place where they can see it. 😱

Man!...music is fine and tell about my feelings
I have a double barreled shot gun... twelve gauge.... my feeling is to replace the pellets by salt and to shut the guy's back sit shock absorber.
My God...i have to be better than that!.... will be hard...very hard man!

Carlos

Re: Man!...music is fine and tell about my feelings
The key to this is with your daughter - give her the shotgun to use!!!!

The song does do a pretty good job a saying what Papa's think tho - I'm glad you liked it. I chose one that had the words with it so you can translate it for her boyfriends when they come over 😉

I was referring to what is on your bench in terms of "new amps", but I am glad to hear you will soon push Miss Scope to its limits. 😱
I have been using my protoboard (same as yours) more often these days.
Lately I have been putting some hours on my sub pre-amp (a long forgotten project) that will be tested using the DX amp you sent me.
After all testing is done, I intend to assemble the DX HR-Turbo for the "final product" (as if there is such a thing with DIY). 🙄
Cheers,
D

I'm very happy that you are now in better health.
Welcome back my friend and don't work to much at your workbench, take your time before doing amps works 🙂
Bye

I am still playing my Dx Amplifier together my computer
I love the warmth of this amplifier...if you push it into the treble it will give you the response you want....if you want bass...well...this is something it can give you without the need to push it to do that.
Sounds nice... a good fellow.
regards,
Carlos

If you are new in the forum.... here you have more informations without the need to read the entire thread... a kindness from our forum friend Greg Erskine, from Australia, the one kindly is keeping those pages to us:

Greg Erskine in our forum is called Gerskine... and we have not boards to sell or to give... it is a DIY product created based into knowledge obtained in this forum, influenced by Graham Maynard and Hugh Dean from Aksa...not a commercial amplifier...no group buy for boards available.

I went away for a long time
Carlos,
I have gone away for a long time, but I am back and attempting to build your amplifier using DX HRII 15/17/07 V.E boards from Nordic's audio projects.
- If I want more power (2 more transistors per channel) what is the best way to achieve it in a simple maner (just use emitter resistors and increase the power supply voltage to ??) Or is this something you recommend against?
note- www.dxamp.com is no longer valid, the circuit and boards look different than the site you mention above.

Not only to double the output transistors but to increase zener voltage into the rail
series voltage regulator... and do that to have 5 volts less than your supply voltage... a good idea is to check you power supply under load conditions.... to be sure when draining 6 amperes (total, both rails..so..this means 3 amperes each rail) the voltage you will have.... this voltage, unders load conditions (resistances into the supply output, from plus to ground and minus to ground sucking energy... them measure... calculate resistance to have 3 amperes flowing each rail... them take not of that voltage).
The best idea is to adjust zener to 2.5 volts, or 3 volts less than that voltage under load conditions... the voltage you have with amplifier during iddle is not a real thing... alike an automobile that iddle can reach 8 thousand RPM..but engaged, even in first gear it cannot go above 6000 rpm, under "load" conditions.... that voltage is just a reference but not something will happen dinamically into real life (except if you're using stabilized electronic regulators..(not recomended..as they need to be as fast, or faster than the audio amplifier circuit).
Also you have to increase voltage into all electrolitic condensers...and depending the voltage you will have to substitute a lot of transistors to 2SC4793 and complementary...as the BD139 have limits of voltage to operate.. also the input transistors.
I do not think it is a very good idea to do that... was not tested..so... i cannot tell you exaclty what gonna happens..we may be surprised with some non expected results.
Do it under your own risk... i cannot guarantee nothing my dear..i have not tested that.
Into simulators we can use BD139 into the output, passing 20 amperes... also we have electrolitic condensers that will never burn because overvoltage... transistors never heat up into simulator..nothing explode into simulator melting copper tracks...but into real life those things happens.

Carlos
