DEQ 2496 Remote Controll (under construction by myself)

Is this thread still actively monitored? I am waiting on 5 of these to arrive and I am wondering what my automation options are. If this is the preferred method, that is fine. If not, then I would ask what is the preferred method. I am also a developer if anyone needs a contributor.

Thanks in advance... Stuart Tampa, FL USA

I've got a weird problem, if anyone could help I'd be grateful.

When I first connected my DEQ2496 it worked fine with the PC remote. Then for some reason, and for no apparent reason, the Midi Channels do not match.

For example, if I set the DEQ to Channel 1 the midi settings on the PC remote show Channel 0. Whatever channel I set the DEQ to, the PC remote will register a channel number one number less.

I've tried resetting the DEQ, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the PC remote software, tried using different USB ports, reinstalled the USB midi cable, firmware etc.

Any ideas?

Many thanks
Ali.

I have only one DEQ so i have no way of testing.

I don't know if the program can run multiple instances.
but that the only option what might work.

I could focus on allowing the program to run in multiple instances.
Or the happy users should donate, so i can buy a second DEQ.

Well that's just a stupid thing.
Channel 1 on the DEQ is actually send as channel 0.
The DEQ allows you to set the channel to 16 wich is actually send as channel 15

Behringer makes the default mistake to start counting from one.
then subtracts 1 to be able to fit the number into the midi data.

this is done almost everywhere when binary code reaches the human interface.
which is very annoying if you ask me

Daft, but at least it explains the problem, thanks :)

Rolled back to 16b and it works fine.

Any idea of the download address for 16b ? I'll try it, it might solve my problems.

Ali.

Edit: I've just checked my program archive and I have a copy of 17b, so I've tried it and it works (XP SP3) :)

There's obviously something about version 18b that stops it working on XP ?

I've sent you a PM.

17b stopped working  It was working fine, then I closed the program, reopened it a bit later and nope, I'm having exactly the same problem as you.

I've tried it on a different computer, same problem. I don't understand. Hopefully 16b will work for me . . . as I say, I've sent you a PM.

Hi guys, new member here who uses a DEQ2496 in live sound. A functional remote would be very helpful for me. I've posted this over at Seoman's own forum but will copy here aswell.

I would also like to try a previous version of the software if possible.

Hello. Firstly, thank you for taking the time to build this software. It seems like it will be useful to me and I know it will have taken many unseen hours.

I am trying to connect to the DEQ2496 from a Samsung NC10 running 32 bit Win XP. It was working to begin with but now it cannot find the DEQ. I tried to connect on A Dell XPS15 running 64 bit Win7 and I got a buzzing sound from inside the computer and then the program closed. I have not changed any settings since it was working.

EDIT: Now when I'm trying it on the Win 7 Dell when I click on "Search Device" I get an error message saying "T." and get the same error when I try to close the program. I have to use task manager to close it.

EDIT: Now the same issue with the NC10 on XP.

While it was working initially I was able to control the settings on the 2496 from the PC but only the GEQ settings were showing up on the Behringer screen, and making changes on the 2496 didn't show on the PC screen.

I would appreciate if you are able to help me, but I understand you do this in your spare time. I would like to use it as the EQ in a live sound situation.

:D

Thanks,

Chris

EDIT: Wow, cool new thing happening :) I'm on the 64Bit Win7 Dell and it's saying "No device found" but when I look at the remote screen I can see any changes that I make on the DEQ, but when I make changes on the Remote they don't show up on the DEQ. Basically the PC is acting as a remote monitor for the DEQ, but is not acting as a control interface. It's strange that there is communication happening and yet the program "can't see" the DEQ.

Even though the remote and the DEQ are both in "Stereo Link" mode, making changes on the DEQ only shows up on the left channel of the remote screen.

I'm not getting the green flashing light at all, even though information is clearly being transferred.

I'm having much the same issue, the software can see changes made by the DEQ, but it cannot make any changes itself. It itsn't recognizing the DEQ in MIDI settings.

It seems like the behaviour you would expect if the "receive" options were set to "off" in the utility page but they're on, and my MIDI interface is flashing to show signal when I make changes on the DEQ and when I make changes on the remote. I think basically the input side of the remote is working but the output side isn't.

Hi All

I see a lot of issues with all the version.
By mail i even got a request for a W98 version.

I'm moving to new servers so my mail will change.
The site is all ready moved Seoman's DEQ2496 Remote software
There will be a new mail adres visible in a few days.

I'll try to watch this thread more often.
Cause the forum on my site was hacked by some pharmacy criminals who spammed it completely full with viagra and other dumb sh*t.

I still have no future plans for the software or updates. I don't even use my DEQ2496 anymore so I lost interest. But Since you all like it i'll try to give some support.

Since delphi and windows versions (and service packs) is a hell of a mess. I also will put all the versions on the website so you don't have to run a W7 program on XP or viceversa.

I also have to thank you all !! The software is about ten years old now and i never suspected it to be used by others
But here you all are and for 10 years!!!
This really puts a big smile on my face
