Those are small improvements, but in a revealing system it certainly makes a difference.
To make things worse....., I have my music stored in WAV because it sounds a little bit better than FLAC. WAV is uncompressed and requires less processing.
How have you established, verified and validated those differences?
Thats a bit worrying as I have all my music flacs on ext usb hdd. Should I be playing from from internal music folder for best results.
Has anyone else had this problem with ext hdd quality.
On a machine with a PC architecture it really doesn't matter. On a machine such as a Raspberry Pi with a more limited I/O architecture it can make a difference (but usually doesn't).
I am using Daphile on thin client with Intel Atom E3825 (Dual Core)
1.33GHz and 4gb ram. Do you think I can relax and play from usb hdd, usb3, or try and fit internal hdd.
Thanks

Playing from a USB HDD will be fine, though it will need to be self-powered if a 3.5 inch drive but a laptop drive (2.5 inch) can run from an USB port.

Yes.
Hi,
Anyone used the BruteFIR and EQ available at Audio Devices settings.
I wanted to manually add an Equalizer file. Can someoner share their files used for the left and right channels.
Thank you

Is all your music on one drive? Hmmmm, recipe for tears sooner or later. Do you have a NAS?Yes its self powered 2.5 inch.

Usually just before you finally get around to doing that backup...
I will do a new backup.
How do NASs store your files, are they a hdd too.
Mine are multiple redundant disks, but I always keep the stuff on two separate servers, and do monthly off-site backups.
My NAS has ZFS mirrors and monthly scrubs to test for file integrity.
Likewise, but that still doesn't replace backups. I also run FLAC file integrity check scans occasionally.
Hard disk USB
Hi,i have a question.i run daphile on a mini PC with the files stored on a usb hard disk connected directly to daphile
It's possible to upload files to the usb hard disk remotely? from a smartphone or another PC?
Thanks

Paolo,
If the drive is checked as Read/Write and is visible on your network, then yes. Make sure all of the metadata is present and correct because that is what Daphile reads.

Is there any documentation on how to set the BruteFir settings to avoid clipping? The two options are match filter gain and bypass filter gain.
I will do a new backup.

Network-attached storage - Wikipedia
at the bottom of that page are NAS operating systems that are open source and free. I use FreeNAS but others like OpenMediaVault are also used by many.
