Clon C-3850

@chalky
To solder smd ic's on an adapter is not the problem, i have done often, i have normal adapters in stock. To find a shop who has a such an adapter in stock is the problem....
https://www.ebay.com/itm/174625549793 80 pieces, a life long i can use....🙂
I have to search...

Hot air soldering tools are not so expensive. I had a look at tools from "Dremel" company. Christmas present from my children for their old father ?😉

We will see....

Instead of the symbol, can you have a try right hitting the value of that transistor itself, the wording that reads "BC550C_C", and see if anything there can be messed with?
Yes, I did that. Changed it to BC550C. This also changes the transistor under "Transistor Properties" (when right clicking on the transistor symbol) to BC550C. Still the same result.

In the pick transistor list, there is not any BC550 or BC560 or any variations.

Opening standard.bjt as a text file with Notepad. Search finds only BC550C_C and BC560C_C. Search through Cordell-Models.txt finds only BC550C and BC560C. For some reason, LTspice isn't using those files.

Also tried "Update Components" under Tools and that didn't work.

Unlike the way it use to be, LtSpice now seems to treat the \users\???\documents\ltspice\ as if it's its private territory, and any altering/addition to the content may have likely been ignored or rejected, including the added \3850 folder. How about trying put folder \3850 under c:\, and adding c:\3850 to the search path?

There is probably an official way to do this, but... I noticed the standard.bjt file included with the program is larger than the @nattawa version. Opened the @nattawa version in notepad, searched for BC550 and copied the lines from .MODEL BC550C_C .

Then opened the standard.bjt included version and pasted at the end. The new version has .model (all lower case), so I kept that the same. Repeated for BC560C_C. Saved then renamed the files, and it worked.

BC550C_C and BC560C_C now appear in the "Pick new transistor" list.

This is the log file after doing the resistor mods ala @chalky . Reducing R12, R16, R19 and R21 from 15k to 5.1k and emitter resistors of Q6 and Q12 from 22R to 6.8R (referring to Peter's schematic) . LTspice schematic attached.
