Active Surplus on queen street usually have a supply of off cuts.

Home Depot carries it here in Canada, but Lexan is a trade name for 3M I think. Most places carry Acrylic, but whay you need is optical quality Acrylic, not something Home Depot carries as far as I know.

You can always check McMaster Carr.

Cast Acrylic: Often used to replace glass, provides outstanding optical clarity even at greater thicknesses. Has a smooth surface for use as windows and signs, but is less impact resistant than polycarbonate.

cool i know where that is..been there lots of times...what should i ask the guys there exactly?

anyone try low-e glass? i hear it does UV and IR anyone try it?

Yep, Low-E is a "pane of glass that selectively blocks out UV and IR light while maximizing the amount of visible light that passes through the glass unit"

Lexan is also 100% UV cut by nature

You might wana take a rain cheak on that one cos nothing can filter uv 100%. Lexan/Plexi just like glass, has to have an additive in order to be able to block any uv, hence different grades.

I dont know where to get lexan/plexi glass from in Ontario, if you read under my name i am from Spain, and im also currently a forum moderator.

Well guys, the projector upgrade is in progress. I recently picked up a Viewsonic VE500, 400:1 contrast and 16ms response. Nice monitor. It has one ffc in the way that needs to be extended, doesn't look too bad. Preliminary results with this panel are very impressive! I will be using NVKeystone on my FX5200 to resize slightly to get all the image through the OHP, and an ATI TV Wonder Pro for tv and capture.

I got my QA-1650 today!

WOW WOW WOW THE PRETTY COLORS!

This is the best panel I have ever owned.
The colors are vibrant, speed is excellant with no lag on DVD or on my Counter Strike game.

I will take some pics later when it is dark and post them tomorrow!

Here is the pics

Ballast for sale

i picked up a ballast at a local garage sale, before i had my OHP which i stripped the light source from.

Its a mercury vapor 175w ballast, and works fine with a 175W metal halide bulb from home depo.

I tested it once, and it fired up fine, then the next day returned the bulb, since i had the OHP.

I figure i'll offer it to the canucks, since shipping is going to be a ***** no matter what ( its heavy) I've got a buddy who works in the post office, so i'll see what i can do.

15 bucks + shipping
contact by PM if interested

Looking for parts

Can anyone help me find a power supply for a Proxima Ovation +944. I have read that they use the same 5 pin adapter from the 820 up. but I have not been able to find one. Some threads have talked about building one but no one has instructions for it, just the pin out. Let me know what you got boys.
