Yes, I maxed out the levels but no output .
I played around with some other settings and sem to have trashed my alsa settings (no more HDMi visible and instead only a lot of spurious analog headphone settings are visible .. 2.1 , .5.1 etc )
Maybe , I'll reformat the sd card and start from scratch .. should be faster this time .

Hello Henrik,
I would like to express my gratitude for this great software. My UMC1820+ADA8200 combination runs great with all input and output channel. (Ubuntu on older i5) Latency is about 10ms with 1.0.3 and chunksize set to 64.
Regards
Michael

I re-installed using the latest Ubuntu 22.10 ... and things are in much better shape. I can get speaker-test to output to a variety of devices and play an airplay source (for instance) , processed via camillaDSP and output to specific HDMI output channels .
Thanks !

While playing, I quit Safari application (the web browser) - CDSP continued playing. Then started Safari again - here CDSP crashed. Is this to be expected?
//
//
It might be a sample rate change that triggers camilladsp to exit. Can you do it again and grab the cdsp log?
It didn't crash when I tested it now. Funny, I think it crashed when I launched Safari - and I don't think that Camilla was an adress that was present at that launch - maybe a memory problem - I have seen crashes lately - I think the difference is that I have had REW running in the backgrund and it leaks so there might be a shortage of memory that make C crash?
//
//
It doesn't.I have had REW running in the backgrund and it leaks
I have cdsp running on a (hackintosh) Mac with Monterey for a few months now, it is running more or less 24/7 and it is very stable in my case, pretty much invisible and just working, so I guess the problem might be somewhere else.
I have two installs - both with Catalina - they have shown that they can run for months - but since I think the last CDSP, it has been a bit shaky as they dont seem to be able to do more than 1 week or two. These are both headless so untouched from efter start to crash.

TNT: Please can you do some troubleshooting, like checking memory consumption of processes (top + key M) to see which (if any) process gets off the hook?
It doesn't appear that camilladsp is crashing. For some (yet unknown) reason the system terminates the camilladsp process.
Btw the M-key doesn't do anything in top on my Mac. But launching it with "top -o MEM" works.

Perhaps something related to the sleep behavior in OSX, like https://montemagno.com/long-running-processes-ios-macos-nsprocessinfo/ ?It doesn't appear that camilladsp is crashing. For some (yet unknown) reason the system terminates the camilladsp process.
I see, the OSX top is not the GNU version I use in linux https://serverfault.com/questions/3103/a-better-top-command-for-mac-os-x .Btw the M-key doesn't do anything in top on my Mac. But launching it with "top -o MEM" works.
Yes I willing to set traps or whatever... I'm just not super proficient - help! 🙂

Very interesting, thanks! It would make sense to set "NSActivityAutomaticTerminationDisabled" and maybe a few more.Perhaps something related to the sleep behavior in OSX, like https://montemagno.com/long-running-processes-ios-macos-nsprocessinfo/
Checked my Sleep settings - sleep was activated - now turned off except "sleep HD when possible".
//
//
I don't think you can do that, iiuc then camilladsp will need to do it.Hmm - how does one set these?
