Babelfish XA252 SIT - graphs , 4R load, BFR=22R

post 2 of 2

that's it; my preference sez that I'm not even going to try tests with 510R for BFR

as expected (ZM being lazy .......... I'm going to really check that maaaaybe later tonight, to actually compare graphs one by one) - this one being somewhere in the middle between B. XA252 and B. XA252 SIT

OK, I've compared graphs

B. XA252 waaaaay down in THD at all power levels, so no real comparison, except same THD Spectra nature (that is more "except")

then, THD levels comparison between B. XA252 SET and B. XA252 SIT clearly shows that SET is uniformly approx. 6db down at each tested power level

in my book, that's pretty good emulation - achieving same behavior and consistency, while still making some desired difference ...... even ignoring that we are emulating nearly 100$ part (plus not so easy to obtain) with 25$ part :clown:

edit: for SET - did I said that even famous ∀ Class DEF current distribution is clearly evident - Schade SIT emulation is working as proper SIT in DEF - I like to see it as SIT being error corrector for Mosfet

SissySIT and Babelfish XA252 SIT are fooling around on the corner and chatting

In one moment they see Babelfish XA252, walking on other side of the street

Babelfish XA252 SIT sez : " That one could use some help ........ "

:devily:

spent few lazy hours in Workshop today, while waiting funny bunch, gathering for Sunday Lunch at Ma's

what best as Intro than some funny music, served by SET

:)

well, it seems I'm getting soft ..... by palms, I was concerned, while meter did show measly 54C at Biguns bodies/tabs

it's getting hot in Serbia - I know when is that - when sitting in Workshop and suddenly going blind  ...... means even my spectacles are becoming wet

so, AC time is here

Not sure he has finalized the concept/design. Let him work his magic. He already has expanded the concept to allow at least three different amps to be built on the same boards.

As I am partial to differential inputs, and a few more watts are never a bad thing, I’m interested to see how this plays out. I have some Tokin SITS, but the SET concept with dual hockey pucks is very cool. I’ll await some impressions of the different amps before building my own.

SissySIT R3 In the queue first anyways. And hope to hit round 3 of the VFET craziness. I can be patient on this amp, although I have learned to jump on the GB, whenever it does happen.

as far as I'm concerned, all work is done, for all 3 amps
change to accomodate one Schade resistor on pcb is trivial and already made in pcb file

possible slight alter of one or two resistor positions, to alter overcurrent protection kick-in level....maybe but also not necessary, and certainly trivial
so, in short, I consider them Fertig ;)

well, I didn't tried it yet, but certainly on list soon
it could be helluva SUSY amp (in fact, more like Ultrasymmetry, even if Papa denies its existence :devilr: )
it should work, no doubt
few major things, some already addressed:
Iq stability - flawless, tick
relative DC offset - need to check, servo if needed
deliberate ruining of symmetry, to invoke 2nd dominant ... need to be addressed

all in all, at least few days of serious work time and, necessary Lucida Intervala here and there :)
power ..... am I over the top, expecting 150W@8R ?
:clown:

but, as that.... completely new amp, I'm not interesting in simple bridging, that's already doable
