good eye, but that back photo I just took when the tube is desoldered. All solder joints are ok for sure, for me soldering itself is kinda OCD process 🙂. At least something I know how to do in our hobby hehe.
I thought that it was just me but YAH, I have some doubts about at least two of the pins shown. In my project, I soldered every pin through and through.
The tube could also be defective when talking about the micro-phonics. I know that this seems counterintuitive, yet I wonder if all that isolation padding is too much. I have made a few of these projects, and have tried different isolation. I found that the double stick tape is hard to beat.
Lastly, I can understand the frustration that you may have with what seemed to be a straightforward project. I still have an old project on the shelf that didn't obey.

Hi everyone - I have a quick question on some spare parts for the B1 with Korg triode kit. I bought the whole kit form DIYAUDIOSTORE and I am finishing it up. I hope to test it out and post some pictures soon.
I also previously built a PASSDiy B1 and built it in an old chassis that I had. I liked the chassis from the Korg kit enough to buy another one to transplant the B1 into, but I didn't buy the completion kit. The completion kit is $99.00 - which seems fair enough but I only need the knob to match the chassis. Does anyone know where I could source an identical knob? I asked the DIYAUDIOSTORE for individual parts but they get the completion kits as a batch and couldn't give me any info on individual parts.
Thanks in advance for any pointers you might have.

You know, I tried that. Ended up needing 4. HA! Bought 6 more. You can never have enough selection.
Buy two of them - wise, of course.
But the knob in the completion kit is such a nice match to the chassis - would be nice to locate it...

Hi Folks, long time reader--first time poster. Just jumping in to report another successful Nutube B1 Buffer completion kit is in the books:
Here it is with the most recent power amps I built, the Randall Museum 6550 DIY monoblocks that are driving the JBL Array 1400's just out of sight. My initial bias setting on T7 and T8 is rock solid at 9.5v and I love what I'm hearing! I'll try my ACA monoblocks next as well as a higher-powered Sony N80es solid state amp that's waiting in the wings.
I initially had a nasty hum with the Mac Mini as the digital source. I traced the problem to the HDMI output to the flat panel display. Removal of the HDMI cable solved this issue. All hum is gone. Who needs a screen when it sounds this good! I set up remote access to control the mini so I don't need the HDMI cable while cranking up the tunes.
Thank you DIY Audio community. Thank you for the build guide 6L6. Last but not least... Thank you Nelson Pass!

Another brand new B1k
Another brand new B1k working fine.
Thank you everybody and Mr Pass in particular.
The online guide works great; I did the job without any doubt.
I think the added gain also helps my ACA amp: I got improved bass extension from my small monitors with Fostex 85wk!
I do not report microphonic noise.

Looking good Northensky!
My Nutube is microphonic but I'll enjoy working on solving this issue using one of the prescribed methods.

Just run a 100R resistor from the center pin of first output RCA to the center pin of the second RCA jack. This provide some measure of isolation. I have done this on a few of my preamps and it works well.
@eric why is isolation desired or required ?
I have 2 outputs on mine and they work fine but now I'm concerned !

Hi, happy to report yet another successful Korg NuTube B1 build from the diyAudio kit. Thank you 6L6 for the build guide, and Mr. Pass for the wonderful design! It's in my system now being fed by a Raspberry Pi with a HiFiBerry DAC and in turn feeding an ACA and Klipsch RP 150M speakers. If anything it seems brighter, maybe deeper and more precise soundstage than without a preamp? I wouldn't have thought that possible in this system but the ACA may have been a bit starved. No microphonics either except when flipping the input source switch.
