busy building everything in a box. there will also be a 7.9-inch touchscreen.
it's starting to look like something.... but the end is not yet in sight.

Hallo,
My flagship prototype is roon ready this works I use moode audio 8.3.3 with roon bridge on the Raspberry Pi 4b.
One off the most important thing is NO sound 😞
Wat I think the problem is, I use an old oelbach k8 mk2 hdmi 1.3a cable because I have no other option yet.
I already order a new 2.1 hdmi cable.
Second my display don't work it don't switch on.
I read so much that I don't see anymore where is the culprit where I did something stupid.
I did also different options for i2s inputs my Denafrips Terminator plus dac.
Can someone help me where I did something wrong?
Regards,
Rudy

@BMW850 i think the FIFO is missing 5v, you can place 2 jumpers on the StationPI Pro J9 as discribed in the manual.
Just built the Simplifed flagship from Iancanada with i2s output. I am running a rpi4 with Volumio which is running Roon Bridge. I can get output from any track or format no problem.....
But NO 16bit tracks will play????? Please help

Hello all,
I am building a DDC with Ian Canada boards. I have a few question on power.
Here’s a list of the component I have
1. HdmiPi Pro (#17B) or TransportPi AES
2. FifoPi Q7 (#1D)
3. StationPi Pro (#35B)
4. LinearPi 5V(#32A)
5. UcConditioner 5V (#25A)
6. UcPureMkIII
8. MonitorPi (#49A)
Amanero Combo384
2 small ultracapacitors for the UcConditioner
2 large ultracapacitors (with a boarding board to buy very soon) for the UcPure
The Amanero Combo board is on the RPi section of the Station
On the audio section, I have the HDMI Pro on top of the FifoPi Q7
I have installed the two jumpers on J9 of the StationPiPro since I want to test with only one source of power for now.
1- It is possible to plug a USB-C with 5V LPSU on J13 to test the DDC without the ultracapacitor boards?
Next, I will mounted the UcConditioner on top on the LinearPi.
V+ and V- are connected to J2 input (UcConditioner) and J6 output (UcConditioner) to connected to J3 of StatoionPiPro. I would test my project with this set-up,once I know the DDC is working.
2- What transformer do you suggest, is the Hammond 1182N6 is enough for 5V?
In the last phase, I will add the UcPure MkIII, I will connect the power output to J5 of the StationPiPro and remove the two jumpers at J9.
3- Do I need to buy another transformer or a dual would be OK? Which one do you recommend?
Any hints will be appreciated.
Thank you for your help! 🙂
Yves

made a little more progress.
now working on the rorary encoder.
now we have to wait for the ordered 40-pin GPIO Header.
for the rest it sounds really sublime🙂
one more question, does it make sense to also have an Ian Canada UcConditioner MKII 5V before or after the Ian Canada's PurePi 5 volts/3.3 volts, I already use the Ian Canada UcConditioner MKII 3,3 volt.

Do you do anything to tackle large inrush current in the toroidal transformer?made a little more progress.

@NeoTheOne not yet, before this I had a standby board that came from a defective harman kardon, unfortunately it gave something a hum on the lines.
do you have an idea for this or what I can best apply?

Actually even I am learning. I hope some more knowledgeable person can shed some light to it. @Gabster 2000 maybe you did something for the toroidal inrush current?do you have an idea for this or what I can best apply?
@NeoTheOne the voltages of the power supplies do not exceed a large value when switching on, the fuses also remain intact.
so in that respect it seems ok, but of course a slow voltage increase is always better.
maybe something like this.

On the note of using transformers in the build, do people have any experience with these types of LPSUs sold on eBay. If is use the ultra capacitors for power supply and supply them power from these LPSUs instead of Mains, i can probably forgo working directly with transformers and hence not have to deal with the safety issues? Will cost me a bit more, but will keep the transformers in an enclosure.
Hello,Do you do anything to tackle large inrush current in the toroidal transformer?
Just use a split bobbin transformer.
Use a choke input power supply that will reduce the stress on the transformer.
The French in the eighties already wrote that a typical toroidal transformer wont stop garbage from the wall socket entering your devices AND garbage coming from some devices going back into your sockets and find its way to your other devices that cannot filter it.
I am no technician but it could be that one reason these supercap supplies that pop up recently make such a difference is that they block the '' garbage '' from digital gear into your power supply lines.
That is one reason i wanna try a choke input power supply for the raspberry pi.
Greetings, eduard
I don't actually see an issue with toroids. I use one in my streamer/DAC and 4 in each of my monoblocs. The B+ on the power tubes use 2 500VA toroids without turnon issues. The house lights dim momentarily, but that helps set an expectation that great music is coming. 🙂
Hello,
The fact that there have been some famous technicians, including Jean Hiraga build some solid state amps which used a toriodal power supply transformer as an output transformer with good results says it all.

I forgot to mention I also use chokes in all my linear power supplies and ferrite beads on the safety ground, so anything that passes through the toroid shouldn't get much farther.
Dude, I just finished my Q3/RCP/TPMKI stack powered by a 1S LiFePO4 26650 as my planned obsolescence off-grid transportable (airplanes, hotels, etc.) secondary rig to prepare it for the SC-PURE 22.
Not cool to comment that SC-PURE only works with the Q7 (primary rig). It gave me a scare as there's no substitute for the SC-PURE in that form factor. Accusilicons are too bright and fatiquing IMO and I will never get my hands on a Pulsar @ optimal freq. Planned obsolescence requires backwards compatibility for the plan to come together (years of planning) and to mention SC-PURE only works with the Q7 is like vampire energy.
I do worry about "22.5792MHz/24.5760MHz for up to 192KHz" now, but I think it should be fine.

I'll post photos in August when back. Just checking out the recent builds... I can never get enough of UcPure/UcBalancer builds...

-In a standard XO package. Will be just simply plug and play for FifoPi Q7/Q3/Q2/MA and TransportPi Digi and many other applications.
