Are there any excellent inexpensive Chinese DACs?

This is the fog of war, one side of the hill the army of American dac's invading the Chinese dacs which have millions of old 1980's designs, on top of the hill the captain's watch from afar with their DSD 11.5mhz dacs. and Acko is watching in stupor, trying to find a hideout. Stereo imaging headphones are riding dark horses and clash in a noise of dust and drawn swords against the raging stereo infantry who refuse to give any ground to subjective imaging.

I can get how to operate it, it is just not popular,

One guy who repaired his pd91 pioneer said that it has astonishing bass... I don't know, but my Chinese pcm58 so far has none of this, it doesn't sound close to the pcm53k , so next I am upgrading some regulators , had more bit adjustments which was a pain as well to do, installed a new is2 socket, wich was very risky to break things, a new vintage OS 8x module, and of course a simplified opa604 iv and opa1611 buffer filter...

On the low -60db my prototype reference is already exceeding akm4396 specs. it is a very revealing dac, there is no mercy of the source, no more dream like sound, just deep into the recording.

After getting the taste of ES9039Q2M by coincidence I got an SMSL D6s coming my way for a try out. Curious. As we all know SMSL makes fine DACs with competitive pricing.

ESS DAC chip, (internal) SMPS, quite cheap. What can go wrong? 😀

what is the difference to SMSL DO100pro?

edit:
sorry got it!
2x ES9039Q2M ESS chip

SMLS D6S is about 200 euros
SMSL DO100pro about 220 euros

Experience with previous dual chip devices said that it does not matter too much. Maybe on instruments or in lab circumstances but not by ear (in my case). It would not be a decisive factor for me. HDMI (ARC) and the on/off switch are of good use though.

D6s is a fine device. Despite dogmatic belief in linear PSUs this one has an internal SMPS and I accept it like a girl friend having tattoos. “She makes up for that with other qualities”. Just don’t listen to D6s with eyes.

A small bit of advice for using vintage Chinese DACS:

Not that I don't understand the mechanism behind it. Also note my setup is from computer motherboard...
The dacs have usually a 16x capable Fs. 254khz.

The filters are designed for the 44.1khz feeding rate and most dac support 24bits word lengths, and drop the extra bits, retaining 14 or more.

When feeding with sample rate on many receiver chips if you select 96khz or 196khz which are common high resolution, it will give you digital noise and higher noise floor in the 605hz region.

I found two ways to feed these dacs, (in my case the ak4117 receiver) , 24bit or 16 bits 44.1 khz, or 88khz, don't select 33, 96 or 192khz.

Zhiu.com translate to your language, make an account, it is a mine of info on a lot of reverse engineering, it has in depth analysis of many incredible products.

I read a lot and I am just going to use directly one mono opamp to drive my new hd650 (my old hd600 is going in recycling or maybe sell it) directly from the dac...
I will also use the original vintages NE opamps I scavenged in old tda and pcm cd players
