That's completely fine!! I would be happy with 10x that number!
😀 😀 😀
Great, well then the amp is ready to connect to the mezmerized b1 🙂🙂

hey 6l6, in your build guide you use a STM cl 60 between the IEC earth and chassis, is this important? and do I need to place one?

Aleph J and F6
i recently bought a set of Aleph J boards from th store and changed my spare F5 to Aleph j in less than a day's effort. Following 6L6 I build instructions took me less than few hours to setup the amp and start listening.
I had built earlier a Aleph J using Peter Daniel's boards but did not have good quality components. This time ordered the entire BOM from Mouser and built using prime parts. The amps sounds excellent and has terrific bass extension in addition to strong dynamics. Will add the pictures of the build shortly.
One observation FWIW is that I disconnected a Semi South based F6 from the chain and connected the AJ. What I noticed as stark difference between the F6 and Aleph J is that F6 has much better resolution compared to AJ, while AJ has better low end extension. Did other forum members notice a similar difference?
Thanks 6L6 for this build guide.
Regards

IEC earth is connected directly to the chassis. It is very important that there is a direct connection!
The CL-60 you see is between Power Supply GND and chassis.
I have question about PSU. I have 8 pcs of 82mF Nippon U32D caps for full dual mono PSU. I designed 3 CRC filter options. Now I must choose resistor value and transformer secondary voltages.

How to calc power dissipation on resistor ?
Analysing ripple 2 or 4 ohm version is much better....IMHO 🙂

The power dissipation is the voltage drop over the resistor times the current through the resistor. In your current examples these are quite substantial:
0.47ohm: max 14 watt
2 ohm: max 40 watt
4 ohm: max 60 watt
Because the stock PSU's filter has (4) 0.47ohm 3W resistor in parallel, per side. Equivalent to a 12W 0.12 ohm resistor.
Those are parallel. So the total resistance per rail with four resistors is: 0.47/4=0.12 ohm. Furthermore, they share the load because of this for a total maximum power dissipation of 12W.
Tonight, I made the first test of the PSU and I have a question (maybe it has been asked before, but it's hard to search in such a long thread): I measured +25.7V and -25.7V on each rails, is this voltage OK?
(I use use a 2*18V Amplimo transformer and a DIYaudio Universal PSU)

naah
that's just 25W/8R
sissy amp

Tell me about it! I just upgraded to Klipschorns and with the 105dB sensitivity and 25WPC amp, I can barely hear a thing! 😀
