AK4490 USB Dac with dsd support.

Hi Sonny

I rigged the DAC up on the bench to watch the currents. Positive 15 seems to take a lot more then -15 in idle. Is this normal values? (It is 15 on the right PSU also, the 1 is hidden on the pic)

I have ordered the Frontpanel and buttons at a new CNC shop. The old place told me that they needed 6 weeks more.

So thats why i have spoken with a new place today.

Sonny

Unfortunately I have to back off from my order, in fact I will be forced to sell my set of preamp and DAC with discrete stage so if anyone is interested please let me know. Apologies Sonny, it was not what I expected 🙁

Sonny, I was trying to upgrade the LCD firmware but I've run into a problem.

I'm using SAM BA 2.16 because it's what is available on Atmel's page.

I'm able to connect and erase the application memory but I'm unable to write the new firmware.

The error message is "Writing to the monitor area is forbidden, write operation aborted"

I've set the address to 0x02000 as shown in your guide.

I'm trying to write Mirand Frontpanel 271215.bin

Any ideas on what is wrong?

Hi Sonny, there's also another issue I'm seeing with the DAC firmware.

With 261215 and 271215, in ASIO mode, it takes about 3 seconds for the DAC to change sampling frequency when a song with a different sampling frequency from the previous song is played.

In Foobar2k, it results in the following messages after about 3 seconds once a song with a different sampling rate is played before the song plays normally.

Unrecoverable playback error: Could not set sample rate to 44100 Hz
Unrecoverable playback error: Could not set sample rate to 96000 Hz
Unrecoverable playback error: Could not set sample rate to 192000 Hz

This does not happen in the 271115 firmware. I switched back to the older firmware and the issue I had with the newer firmware is gone.
