I guess when driving 22 ohm cans, the output impedance set to 10 ohm is too much, resulting in a damping factor on only 2.2. With the 300 ohms cans this should be no problem.

You are totally right about it. I am using it when testing the DAC input switching before sending them out. Just to make sure that they measures and sound as they should

Chassis.

I have got buttons today. The chassis I have 25 pcs of. Buttons for 8 right now. On Monday I will get volume knob.

The 22 of March I should have good quality RCA connectors which most brands uses.

So the plan is to ship end March but it has gone so long that I do not have track on who wants a chassis or not. With the chassis you will get a new encoder.. It was necessary to change the encoder pcb to fit it in the chassis. Also there will be a small pcb with USB connector for firmware upgrade of the frontpanel without the need for a rs232 cable



The button fits in a nylon bush from farnell.

I will make sure that the pcbs for the lps is ready at the end of march.

I got asked about the same questions on email.

So here it is.

1) preamp kit (389€)
2) AK 4490 USB DAC + discrete DAC kit (326€)
3) SMPS (73€) or LPS (155€)
4) Input / output connectors (45€ for XLR board and 45€ RCA board)
5) chassis (191€).

So an complete kit will cost for SMPS variant 1069€ + shipping and for LPS variant 1151€ + shipping

The powersupply board LPS should be ready for production next week.

Regardless if you choose SMPS or LPS everything can be powered form the SMPS and LPS.

7) I can also sell prebuild preamp/DAC/LPS for 1351€ + shipping with 2 years warranty

Hmm. Could anyone here tell me which is which pin on J7? Someone must have soldered it before no? I cant figure a way to find out either since since pin 2 and 4 of five is gnd.
