I got asked for the data on the Sales offer preamp board, so here it is.

It is a JFET opamp based preamp. All inputs are handled as differential also RCA input.

Input impedance is: 20KOhm.

Output impedance is: 100Ohm (Set by series resistors) Output is shorted to GND until frontpanel timeout has elapsed to prevent clicks and pops.

Volumecontrol is handled by a very good R2R dac form TI called DAC8802. Logarithmic setting is handled by display.

Supply voltage for the R2R DAC is delivered by the ultra low noise LT3042. To make the volume control as clean as possible.

To summarize:

  • Input: 20KOhm
  • Input: 4 channels -> 2xRCA + 1xXLR + 1xAUX RCA/XLR
  • Relay based input select.
  • Output: 100Ohm
  • Output: Single ended.
  • Gain: +6dB
  • Size: 130x80x40mm
  • Power: +/-15V 40mA, +5V 200mA (Due to relays and OLED display)
  • Vaolume control: DAC8802 (14 bit)
  • Supply for DAC8802: LT3042
  • Opamp: OPA828 (OPA627 replacement - High-speed (45 MHz GBW and 150V/μs SR), low-noise (4nV/√Hz) RRO JFET operational amplifier)

Hi
when i use Optical input on my mirand dac 4493 i have loud crackling noise...is this the same error other have with the spdif and optical...

usb input works perfekt

if we only use the usb input ,,,i will say it is a very highend dac...plays really good from top to buttom,,,very detailed with great dynamic

Best Bjarne

Anybody compared the new dac board vs 4490?

Anyway. I tried a new supply technique that sounds great with the dac

Try parallel small electrolytics say 20 of them at least as main reservoir 220uf i using Panasonic nhg.
Very happy with it and like it more than the expensive black gate 3x 1000uf. Slightly less musical but you get a lot more on 3d. Low bass extention. Slam
