to sir AJT..

i have finished the two amps.1 question is,when i bridge the two amp using the circuit given in bridging, all the transistor in the 2nd amp got busted then my speaker smoke.what could be the problem here?

whoa that is an expensive smoke you have there!

1. what is the impedance of the connected speaker and its corresponding wattage?
2. what is the voltage of rails?
3. what is the fuse amperage?

just a hunch... you may have overloaded the amp... i could be wrong...

8 ohms 200 watts. +/- 70 rails,10 ampere fuse each rail.

it was just a da1 ichi spkr.

now i'm afraid to try it again.how can i test it without damaging my spkr?

Rails at +/-70 could be the allowable max. When the rails sag due to load, you will get around 900 watts for bridging theoritically.

Is your speaker rated above 900 watts? It is also possible that your power transistors are fake... In cebu, they sale fakes. When i buy i checked the markings. Fake ones have faded and fatter letter markings. Original have sharp, clear, and thinner markings...

Also for testing, it advisable to use bulb in series with the transformer primary winding.

gud day sir jaagut..
can i try a manex 500 watts speaker for testing in bridge?coz i'll be building another pair for the sub and i will using the BTL mode in a 1000 watts speaker.

can be, but don't overload your speaker. be careful as you might burn it again like the previous one.

(of course, i assumed that both boards are already working properly before bridging it.)

did you abuse your speakers?
your output trannies smoked when your speakers fried....

did you do idle current testing? how about output offset voltages? what were they?

pls elaborate what is a soak test?

using a dummy load and a signal generator
you can run your amp at various power levels,
this way you can see how hot your heatsinks go.....
it is better that your amp fails into a dummy load
than fail into a speaker, masakit yan bai....
a scope would be better to monitor clipping,
or you can build a clipping indicator if you do not have a scope...

in all my tube builds i run them powered up for 24 hours straight just to see if something gives...;)

sir ajt
i'm trying to learn how to use the scope...i used the tru RTA software as sig gen
thru usb sound card.in the pics i set the tru RTA sig gen in 1khz in low volume, the 2nd pics is in high volume.sakit na sa tenga coz don't have a dummy load.can u give a diy dummy load circuit..plsss...
