Hi Damir,
time to start the solder pencil. My pcbs for the CFA120LMOS arrived. Still need to order some minimelfs.

That look very nice Gunni.
I intend to start, I hope, soon with SMD.

Case for Damir 100W CFA Amplifier
This is Aluminium 5mm case for 3 channel Damir 100W CFA Amplifier.
Aluminium plate cut by Water-Jet CNC machine. On Both sides will be mounted big heatinks 300x210x40mm. On front panel rectangular hole is for big analog VU-meter.

Very nice! 🙂
How much does it cost to have those parts water jet cut?
And how many kilo is the case?

For 2 enclosures like this 150Eur with material 5mm AlMg and 12mm frontplate.
Price is without Anodizing.

Thanks TA.
It seems quite reasonable, I think this is the price in your country, I haven't checked what it would cost here in Finland but I fear it will be expensive.
I wish you good luck with your build and please post more pictures when your beautiful amplifier is built.

What kind of meter? A actual meter with a mechanical hand or a LCD Display one that would be able to do more than pretend to be a mechanical display.
Your case is outstanding, What is the TOTAL cost with the cost of the Aluminum? Excellent choice of materials and design. Now to hear some Singing.

when I said analog VU meter it means analog instrument not digital. Like in this photo. I have also idea to put LCD display in case that I will not be satisfied with analog.
Total cost Alu material + water cut is 150 Eur for 2 cases. Case is big and robust.

Mario how are you going to connect one VU meter when you have 3 separate amps in one chassis?
Damire
good question. I'm not sure at the moment. Maybe to bring separate full audio signal before it is splitted by crossover.

You can set it as a peak meter.Damire

Look at this if you like to see what can be done. Again very beautiful work and soon to be listening. Thanks

And, if you are afraid of a non linear little load at your loudspeaker's output:You can set it as a peak meter.
attached, the idea.
R1&R2 has to be set at the limit of conduction (the needle of the vu meter just moving at the limit you can see ;-)
The 4.7µF fasten the measurement of the peaks, while the 22µ slow the decrease .

For what kind instrument is suitable this schematic. I have 100 uA meter. Idea was to buy soldered modul from ebay.

It will be OK. You can adjust the bridge values that load the amps outputs to adjust the sensitivities. First with a sin at full amp power to get, by example +3dB on continuous mode. On each amp, because your meter will always show the highest level of the three.Tournesol

Then, with the amp output at -3dB from full power, adjust, if needed the value of the 4.7µ in order the meter do not goes over +1dB when you put the sin signal from off to on.
A pure vu meter will never indicate something useful with musical transients. And what you want is to be sure you dont bring any amp to clip, right ?
2n2222 will be perfect for transistors.

Hi Damir,
Do you have available board to sell? How much is it?
Thanks,
Fred
Hi Fred,
I have four more 200W boards 46 EUR each but no any feedback small boards (included in the price). I will order more those small boards but it will take time (Chines New Year). Is this OK with you to wait?

Some time ago I had the first auditions with the Dado GW MK3 preamp which I was very surprised at, how well it sounded.
Last night I did an audition with amp Dado 200 MOSFET amp and GW MK3 preamp.
What can I say ... It's so good that I stayed until late at night to listen.
It impresses you all - crystalline voices, very beautiful and articulated bass (even at low volume), very silent. Having a lower voltage (+ _45V) and a generous heatsinks, I set a 300mA bias on the MOSFET. The sound was special. I will come back with pictures later, this amp deserves to be put in the beautiful case.
A question 🙂
Would it be a win if I put 2SJ201 / 2SK1530 (instead of IRFP240 / 9240)?
If so, what changes should I make?
Thank you.
