Your ax-14 amp, with transformer 10A 40v, sanken 2sa1216 and 2sc2922, local indonesian softstart and speaker protector kit. Sound is clear and crystal at mid and high. Should i add zobel network, sir? What are the value for resistor and capasitor? What is the function of zobel network? Thank you very much.

Nice work, what is your speakers? I suggest to add zobel without triac DC protect.

I use dual 6 inch subwoofer for the low and dome tweeter for the mid and high. Thank you very much sir for your sharing. Ax-14 is easy to build for beginner. Next time, i will try to assemble b500
My NX14(16)
a few pictures and one question
Mr. Mile,in pcb-layout for NX14 capacitors C4-C5 and C11-C12 are all 2,2uF ,but in schematic C4-C5 are 22uF 63V and C11-C12 are 2,2uF 100V. What capacitors should i use C4-C5,2,2uF or a 22uF?

I've got my answer in "APEX audio" facebook page, mr.Mile said that value of those capacitors is not critical because filtering is their main purpose. If they were compensating or coupling capacitors,it would be very important to use specified values. Now i can go on... Thanks Mile-APEX!

Nice work, thanks for shareing,

This DC ptotect can be use if rail voltage is over +/-40V DC, and if there is fuses in rails or amplifier output. If on amp out exist over +35V or -35V DC, triac conduct and short circuit speaker output.
Hi
Please tell me how your circuit protect speaker when DC out <35V,for example DC out=25VDC.Thanks.

Hi Mile,
Can I use IRFP460 instead of IRFP250 as output.
I tried to up load my amp,but failed.
Please let me know. I use ImageShack.
Please let me know. I use ImageShack.
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
Here I try again..this time I use tinypics.

I am sorry if any possibilities of double posting..
Many thanks to Mr. Mille S.

DC protect with triac will not work if 25V DC is present on amp out.

Yes, also as IRFP240,350,450...

Post message with 'Go Advanced' and 'Manage Attachments' and add pictures in your post.
Mr. mile, I wanted to assemble TEF AX20. Would you share a simple PCB layout for it?. please
I don't have pcb design for AX20, you must design your pcb.
DC protect with triac will not work if 25V DC is present on amp out.
Many speaker protect will work if DC out>2V.I think 25VDC is very high voltage, this can detroy our spekers.

I suggest to use DC protect with relay (post #77), triac is better than nothing, but amp rail voltage is +/- 35-60V and if outputs fail you have rail voltage on amp out, triac conduct, rail fuses blow and speakers are safe.

I have up graded some parts with (I hope) better ones available on local suppliers. It is hard to find audio grade parts in my small city (I live in Solo-central Java).
I use some nichicon caps, wima, and sanyo.
If I have no mistake, I have a better low, mid and high now. Much punchy bass ...Crisp high and clearer mid.
I use a snubber PSU with 4X 10.000 uf/63 V. It needs larger heat sink. This amp uses temporary casing until does not up grade again. So interesting amplifier.
With regulated PSU maybe it will sound better.
My skill is poor, so I don't know about any measurements. I will leave it to the expertise.
Again thank you Mr Mile S. I do appreciate your advices for making this amp getting better.
Warmest Regards,
Arif B
