Just got these back from Seeedstudio. 🙂

Looks very good🙂! All the best for the build... instead of the fuses, you can instal safety resistors for initial start-up.

What kind of an input terminal block does this board use for audio signal in? The hole spacing is smaller than my typical 5mm screw terminal block. There's plenty of room on the board for a larger one. I actually got fuse holders and the special VAS transistors (KSA1381 and KSC3503) the same time the boards arrived so I am good there. Good idea about safety resistors in place of fuses to get started though.

Input terminal raster is 2,54mm

Yes, it is. I use this http://www.molex.com/pdm_docs/sd/022232021_sd.pdf
Ahh. Same as a small PCB header connector for a small fan. I guess I could make some of those but would have been nice to have same connector as all my other amps.

I will opt for the one posted by Miles. I myself prefer direct soldering. I have a feeling that ALUMINUM (such as in the "female" socket), no matter short, shouldn't be used for audio.

Hi XRK,
2.54mm pitch headers as posted by Mr. Mile is "generally" very commonly used for Small signals. or if you use shielded cable in your build, you can directly solder the wires, depends on your preferences. the one posted by bimo, is what had used previously in my builds.
Another Apex AX14P
Hi Guys.. Here is another Apex AX14P with two pairs outputs .. working Great, with lot of power .. massive and huge sound .. Thank's to Mr. Mile Slavkovic for schematic and Mr. Juan Vargas for drawing PCB..

Hi XRK,
one more thing...You could use a 3-pin terminal block for supply and spk out instead of regular faston connectors. the pitch there is 5.08mm.

I realized that after playing around with a terminal block but the spacing on the top 3 is all right next to each other so too tight. Not a big deal as I have the spade connectors and prefer them for the power supply in and speaker outs (rugged reliable simple and low profile). I see why they are used on all serious amps now 🙂
For the audio input I am still using terminal block as most amps still seem to be using that. We should probably all switch to Molex 2 pin 2.54mm pitch connectors with Apex amps?
Can't wait to start building this - just need some time.
I need to order more Renesas 2SJ's and 2SK's and was going to get them from Tayda as suggested by still4given but Jwilhelm said he recently had a problem with fake 2N5401's (why anyone would fake those is beyond me). So debating which place to source them from.

Attached image shows the fitment of standard 3 pin termi block with 0.2" pitch. If your termi block is too big, then it wont fit. Just posting here so that its more clear.
Tayda has a huge stock of renesas and as told by Terry, they are genuine. SO I dont think they would be fakes. Another source is known by Ammel68, may be he can tell you.

Ok - I get it now. I was having temporary senior moment there. I was thinking an independent 2 pin block per connector - totally forgot one could put a single 3 position block for all 3 🙂
Good option to have.
Ok I will order more Renesas from Tayda then. I have a another lateral FET amp design (like one below) by Vzaichenko/Jwilhelm in the works and will need 4 pairs.

Hello everybody. Where can I find the work files for FX-8? I downloaded a lot of things here, which confused the workers and which are not 🙂
Sprint files here !
this make me happy sir 😀 does the relay operate correctly sir ?
here is the Sprint file for share of course 🙂
Best Regards
Juan

FX8 Bimo Edition build progress
I am still waiting for 2SC1845's to arrive (I suppose these are lower noise than BC546's? but pinouts are different so I could not swap), otherwise I would have been able to fire it up tonight. Need to also find some magnet wire for the output inductor. Also need the small TO-126 heatsinks to come in for the VAS transistors.
Build was nice and easy. I had to use 2 resistors in series to make 820R and 33R, or to make a 0.5w 100R. I will have to order those values for the future.
