ROAR15

So you wanna hear 240 hz and 300 something periodically ringing when a female vocal stirs it up? How is it you don’t hear the ~90hz resonace in your box with the XO set at 80 hz? To me that’s either impossible, or your room is full of crazy sounds that make it all just funky and unidentifiable?

Nope, especially with a -24dB slope.
I only hear vocals in my 5 surround speakers playing >80hz.

That's not a random pic. That's a basic double fold version of YOUR model. You cannot place your DRIVER's tap point where there is an abrupt transition in CSA. What YOU need to do is either model more segments or move your tap point.

That's where we could benefit in having a 5th segment in HR.
Do I need to describe this 20-25cm(432-345.6 hz ) offset to horn response to get a different result in the bandwidth that ends at 108?

Did the government send you here to confuse us newbies about Math and physics? 👽😝

You don't need to describe anything to me. I am going by what you have shown.

Nope. I ain't nobody. All I do is state facts.

You presented a model that showed an abrupt CSA change at the driver's tap point, simple and plain.

Does a -24dB slope remove a pipe resonance 10 hz above the set point ?

Or is that like closing the screen door so you can’t hear the lawnmower on your patio?😝. Don’t lie to me, I’m already dumb enough without your help

With a -24db slope at 80hz, I hope the driver doesn't see 81hz...lol.

It's no different than a -24dB SUBsonic filter. You hope the driver doesn’t see 19hz when you have the frequency set at 20hz.

I am thinking about purchasing the eminence impero 15c drivers and building this cab. I'm new to hornresp but it looked like it modeled well to me. It seemed to be a few dB louder and flatter than all the recommended drivers even better midbass extension. I think the group delay looked better too. The bl is lower on this driver I think it makes the difference. Can someone help confirm this for me before I make the investment?

These are my inputs and results. Does this look right?

this would go in my ht to meet my synergy horns at 150hz. my subsonics are dealt with by near field subwoofers behind the lp. jw if this woofer is a good fit for the ROAR or not. lmk ill build them and post measurements.

Might sound like a ‘one note wonder’ at the second resonace and be quite ‘overdamped’ at Fb because of the lack of motorforce and very loose suspension (Vas)?

Chronic issue with putting weak motored drivers in high order qw that ‘needed’ a Helmholtz resonator or tapered qw tube instead

the vas of the impero is roughly the same as the aforementioned 15SW115 at 4.31:3.9 respectively. however the bl is 17.4 compared to 30 which is a significant difference. suspension compliance (cms) is also very close .105mm/newton for the b&c and .12mm/newton for the impero. it is worth mentioning that in my use case i won't be using more than a couple hundred watts.
