Look at a few other forums too, including this. And you will find info on Klipsch K-402 / AXI 2050 combination.IamJF
What kind of horn/waveguide was the Axi used with ?
As i read Klipsch's document at least, there is still a preference for the TAD 4002.
So all that modern "Engineering" and marketing and hype, to be beaten by a 50-year-old compression driver. 🙄
The AXI is a monster of a Mid range compression driver, it's special trait is it's extension on the low end, quite the opposite of the 4002.
Which is natural with a 7" TI diaphragm. Again the laws of physics apply.
Ladies and gentlemen,
the very nice thing about Celestion drivers is the Celestion horn wizard website here: https://celestion-horn.netlify.app/
here you can get a first impression what the Axi2050 will do in a horn with a size like the estimated size of mid high horn of the Klipsch Jubilee speaker
with this horn mouth sizes a coaxial mounted bullet super tweeter will improve the performance from 6000 to 20000 Hz, here an example for such a thing
here the super tweeter is a Visaton TL16H

Anyone have any recommendations for a quality one inch compression driver to be used from 8KHZ up to 20kHZ?
@MRJAZZ - i have made some experiments with this and came to this final conclusion for my budget - there may be other conclusions for some cost no object approaches like the TAD compression drivers with the fabulous beryllium diaphragms. Some pics first

I have tried for a short period to couple the TL16H Visaton super tweeter with the 16 inch tractrix woodhorn - it did not work well here one pic i found in my archive, but not a good one

although the measurements wasn't bad the sound wasn't satisfying

now the setup is
20 - 85 Hz SLOB mounted 21 inch SW
85 - 170 Hz L / R side mounted 15 inch kickbass woofer
170 - 340 Hz Sonido SFR 200 alnico custom driver with 16 inch waveguide
340 - 3400 HZ B & C DCM 414 with tractrix wood horn 16 inch
3400 - 20000 Hz 18sound NSD1095N with tractrix 5 inch woodhorn
not the single drivers are only important, all the system must fit together in 5 way multiway stereo setup
i posted some measurements earlier https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/best-compression-drivers-today-2022.382609/post-7002834
i will work in September on some new measurements for the current 5 way stereo setup
hope it helps, Stefano

I quite liked this one - https://www.bsacoustic.sk/sub/bsacoustic.sk/images/shop-active-images/PROFI/Z009442C.pdf - the TriAcetate membrane does not seem to have any harshness or nasty breakup. In general, I prefer plastic to titanium in the highest range.
Edit: It was actually this one https://sica.it/prodotto/cd-83-26-380/

I have used old JBL 075 alnico bullet tweeters from time to time to reinforce the top of both altec 604-8Gs and Altec A5 VOT. Probably not optimal, but I own a pair. I also have a pair of ESS AMTs wich I have not tested yet. Have been tinking of getting som altec or gpa biflex speakers to put into altec 620 cabinet clones and use the AMT to reinforce the top.
DE360 is the only one I found with really no resonances up to 20kHz. I like the sound, always relaxed.Anyone have any recommendations for a quality one inch compression driver to be used from 8KHZ up to 20kHZ?
Any idea how the less expensive B & C De 10 with Mylar might compare with the Polymer on the DE 360?
What wave guide, horn are you using? I does look good in the 10-20K range.DE360 is the only one I found with really no resonances up to 20kHz. I like the sound, always relaxed.
I really like the Limmer 021 for this purpose - for me the best "small" 1" horn available. When only used at very high frequencies you can for sure find something smaller.
DE360 really reminded me to the sound of a HiFi ring radiator - as it is one, just more powerful. This resonant free sound at high frequencies. Soft domes tend to add "something" there. I also worked with BMS drivers for years but the harder membrane of the B&C seem to have benefits at high freqeuncies.
I did a project with DE10 long time ago but discard it. HF was good but I don't think it's up to the DE360.
But NEVER trust such hearsay stories with years in between listening - I'm afraid you have to test yourself for a real comparison 😉

Are you saying if using a 1 inch CD, just as a supper tweeter ( 8 to 10k and up) that you really don't need it in a wave guide?....Just naked, for all the world to see....🙂
If you're using from that high, maybe you can consider those compression tweeters?
Those come with horn
Ciare CT440 / FaitalPro FD371 / beyma also has a lot options

loading after 10K but i may be wrong
You should still have a waveguide for a smooth transition to 90 degrees (baffle) or more (as with Le Cleach round-overs).aslo up 8/10K we don't really need a horn , i tend to prefer them without for this task 🙂
-it’s not really for “loading” the driver, rather done to “smooth-out” the diffraction ripple some (for reduced narrow-band “peeking”).

Nice to see 5-way multi-ways like this. Big fun ime.
